The Office of State Parks is asking outdoor enthusiasts to take their 23-question survey that help guage the public’s usage and preferences for various types of outdoor activities. It will be a warm day today, but a strong cold front is coming. We will see widespread showers later today and after the rain moves out, winds will shift out of the north at 15 to 20 miles per hour. Temperatures will drop below 30-degrees north of I-20. It will be even colder Tuesday night as temps will fall into the mid-20s in south Lousiana on Wednesday morning.

The complaints are piling up over the new Louis Armstrong International Aiport in Kenner. Passengers were frustrated yesterday over the long lines at the T-S-A security checkpoint. One person told the Advocate it was a mass sea of humanity. Traffic getting in and the out of the airport has also been a problem.

The Saints were expected to extend to their winning streak to seven games yesterday, instead, the one and seven Falcons upset New Orleans 26-9 in a game where Quarterback Drew Brees was sacked six times. The running game also struggled, just 52 yards rushing. Brees says they executed poorly…

The Saints were just 3 of 12 on third downs and they were penalized 12 times.

New Orleans still has a two-game lead for first place in the N-F-C South with a seven and two record. Second-place Carolina lost in Green Bay 24 to 16. The Saints are third in N-F-C standings, the Packers are second and San Francisco is number one. The 49ers host Seattle tonight.

LSU’s win over Alabama was the most-watched college football game of the season. C-B-S says an average of 16-million viewers watched the game and viewership peaked at 20-million.

Every college football team from Louisana who was in action on Saturday won. Louisiana Tech had a homecoming victory over North Texas, ULM had a big win over Georgia State.

Nicholls and Southeastern Lousiana both won and they are part of a four-team tie for first place in the Southland. Grambling knocked off Alcorn State for its fifth win in a row. If the Tigers win their final two games, including the Bayou Classic, they’ll win the SWAC West division.

Baton Rouge also received a 15 million dollar grant to create a bus rapid transit project.

Part of the money will go towards installing a high tech sensor array throughout the area that Walker says will become a testbed for other smart city projects.
