The Saints were just 3 of 12 on third downs and they were penalized 12 times.

New Orleans still has a two-game lead for first place in the N-F-C South with a seven and two record. Second-place Carolina lost in Green Bay 24 to 16. The Saints are third in N-F-C standings, the Packers are second and San Francisco is number one. The 49ers host Seattle tonight.

The eight-game losing streak to Alabama is over. The Fighting Tigers went into Tuscaloosa on Saturday and beat the Crimson Tide 46-41 in a game that was quite the departure from LSU’s last victory over Bama, 9-to-6 in 2011. Coach Ed Orgeron knew going in that they were the better team…

LSU’s win over Alabama was the most-watched college football game of the season. C-B-S says an average of 16-million viewers watched the game and viewership peaked at 20-million.

Every college football team from Louisana who was in action on Saturday won. Louisiana Tech had a homecoming victory over North Texas, ULM had a big win over Georgia State.

Nicholls and Southeastern Lousiana both won and they are part of a four-team tie for first place in the Southland. Grambling knocked off Alcorn State for its fifth win in a row. If the Tigers win their final two games, including the Bayou Classic, they’ll win the SWAC West division.
