The lawyer for recently arrested Saints linebacker Junior Galette expects his client will be exonerated once all of the facts are presented. Galette was booked by Kenner Police yesterday on a charge of simple battery with domestice violence. Attorney Ralph Whalen says the alleged victim in this case refused to leave Galette’s home and grabbed a knife, threatening Galette and four other people in the home.

Ohio State quarterback Braxton Miller has reportedly expressed interested in transferring to LSU. There’s also a report that Notre Dame signal caller Everett Golson is also considering LSU. Both players would be eligible to play for LSU in 2015, but Bayou Bengals Insider Publisher Derek Ponamsky says LSU can’t talk to Miller or Golson until respective schools grant them a release from their athletic scholarships…

In other college football news…former Southeastern Louisiana head coach Mike Lucas has been added to Mark Hudspeth’s staff at U-L Lafayette. It’s been reported Lucas will coach the Ragin Cajuns defensive backs. He spent last season as the defensive coordinator at Northwestern State. Demons Head Coach Jay Thomas says they will take their time in naming a new defensive coordinator.

And in high school, Thomas Backham is stepping down after four years as head coach of Bastrop. The Rams were 7-and-4 last season.

The mother of a little Baton Rouge boy who drowned in a 20-foot well filled with water has been charged with negligent homicide in conection with the death of 4 year-old Jassiah Clark. Twenty-five year-old Brittni Clark, was charged Tuesday afternoon, because BRPD believes the child was not properly supervised when he went missing on December 20th.

Abraham says the Keystone XL Pipeline will provide jobs that would be great for the state. He says this Congress will pass laws that were not passed in the last congressional session and send them to the President for acceptance or veto. Abraham is optimistic that the GOP controlled Senate will be able override a presidential veto…

31-year-old Trista Goleman had allegedly been cashing money orders that were being sent to the town for fine payments. Carnline says Goleman was booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center….

Goleman faces 17 felony counts each of forgery, malfeasance in office, injuring public records and filing false public records. Carnline says the final amount of the money orders Goleman is accused of cashing has not been determined as the investigation is ongoing. He says it appears the clerk was working alone in this incident…

Angola Warden Burl Cain says he has not taken any steps to install a cooling system on death row. A federal judge has ruled that the state needs to take more measures to air condition death row during the hot summer months but it’s on appeal. Cain says death row was built in 2005 and has a natural ventilation system so it’s not even the hottest part of the prison…:

He says installing air conditioning in the prison would be too expensive.

The Louisiana Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness is asking residents to prepare for plunging temperatures and freeze warnings. The National Weather Service says an arctic air mass moving across much of the U.S. will begin impacting Louisiana tonight. Freezing temperatures are expected to last several hours beginning tomorrow night.
