Executive Director Marjorie Esman says employees could be banned from doing anything on social media because they don’t know how the city would interpret the policy…

Members of Louisiana’s Congressional delegation are already chiming in on reports of United States Attorney General Eric Holder stepping down. Senator David Vitter tweeted he is not sad to see him go and couldn’t think of any Attorney General in history that has attacked Louisiana more than Holder. Holder is resigning after less than six years in office.

Survey results released by the Louisiana Department of Education show that future teachers need more time in the classroom. Superintendent John White says the department is moving toward a model where the educator is a classroom teacher for a year, as an apprentice, under a mentor teacher before entering their own classroom…

State Police say an on-duty St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s deputy was fatally shot by a fellow deputy yesterday during a domestic dispute in LaPlace. Spokesperson Melissa Matey says when responding deputies arrived, Lt. Nolan Anderson fired several shots in the air and then turned his gun on the officers, forcing them to fire on him. Anderson was pronounced dead at a local hospital. Matey says this is a very tragic and difficult time for the St. John’s Sheriff’s Office…

State Police say two men are dead following a Wednesday morning accident in Lafourche parish involving and 18-wheeler and a dump truck. They say the victims are 38-year-old Murphy Callais Jr. of Cut Off and 62-year-old Lloyd Coleman of Thibodaux. Investigators believe Callais tried to pass a dump truck then hit the mac truck head on before being struck by the dump truck. Coleman was the driving of the 18-wheeler. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene.

State Police say a motorcyclist died after a two-vehicle accident occurred on I-49 south of Opelousas yesterday afternoon. They say 67-year-old Donald Royer was traveling south when a truck changed lanes in front of him. Investigators believe Royer couldn’t avoid hitting the back of the truck and was thrown from his bike. He later died at a hospital.

The West Feliciana Parish Sheriff’s office says a tree trimmer died after a limb struck the platform he was on and he fell over 40 feet to the ground. They say Calvin Lofton was working near Highway 10 in St. Francisville when the tragedy took place. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
