The Shreveport Police Department is investigating an overnight stabbing that claimed the life of a teenager. Authorities say a 15-year-old was stabbed to death during an dispute with another person. They confirm a 53-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the teen’s death, but their relationship is uncertain at this time. The investigation is ongoing.

Department of Wildlife and Fisheries spokesman Bo Boehringer says newly passed legislation will allow the department to sell advertising space on its properties in order to raise additional funds. He says these ad sales are an effort for LDWF to stay self-sufficient…

State Police say two are dead after an early morning crash on I-10 in Calcasieu Parish. They say a truck was traveling the roadway near Lacassine when the right rear tire deflated. The truck veered into the median where it rolled over. Two unrestrained passengers in the rear of the vehicle were ejected and received fatal injuries. The driver and another passenger were transported to area hospitals with moderate injuries. The investigation is ongoing.

Five parishes that were impacted by flood waters from the Red River have been declared a federal disaster area. Director of the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness Kevin Davis says police, fire, and public work departments who had paid overtime during the disaster will benefit from this assistance. He says whether individual citizens affected by the flood will be eligible for federal aid, is still being determined….

State Police say it was a deadly weekend on the highways. There were six fatal crashes including 4 that involved motorcycles. One of them was in Tangipahoa Parish last night on US 51 in Manchac. Authorities say 67-year-old Willie Hebert of Luling was killed after his motorcycle ran off the road.

The Louisiana High School Officials Association and the Louisiana High School Athletic Association have reached an agreement over refs pay which keeps high school sports safe for the fall. The two sides held a meeting yesterday. It is not known if there was a pay raise given to referees as details of the compromise have not been released at this time. LHSOA meets again Wednesday to discuss the outcome.

Spokesman Corporal L’Jean McKneely says they believe 20-year-old Marquiles Whaley is the shooter and he’d been involved in some sort of argument at the home..:

The Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s office is also investigation a possible murder/suicide which took place over the weekend. Officers found Scott and Rhonda White deceased in a home in Ruston. Few details are being released.
