College football could have a 12-team playoff as soon as 2024. That’s because the Rose Bowl has reportedly signed an agreement that would allow the C-F-P to expand from four to 12 teams in 2024. According to Ross Dellenger at Sports Illustrated, the six highest-ranked champs automatically qualify and then the next six highest-ranked teams get At-Large bids. The top four conference champs get byes and the better seed will host first-round matchups.

Former LSU assistant coach and Nebraska interim head coach Mickey Joseph has been arrested on suspicion of strangulation and third-degree domestic assault. Joseph was taken into custody after police received a report of a domestic disturbance at a home in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Zion Williamson had a season-high 33 points on 12 of 15 shooting as the Pelicans defeated the Raptors 126 to 108. Trey Murphy had 26 points and hit six three-pointers. New Orleans is 13-and-8 and visit the Spurs Friday.

Lake Charles Police arrest a man from Welsh for a shooting earlier this week at a local hookah lounge that left seven people shot and wounded. Cops tracked a vehicle used in the getaway to 20-year-old Damien Guidry Jr., who is now facing seven counts of attempted murder. Three of his victims are in critical condition.

 

A month-long narcotic investigation in Caddo Parish leads to the arrest of 53-year-old Emmanuel Barrett of Shreveport. Caddo Sheriff’s Drug Task Force head Lt. Darin Marshall says when they searched Barrett’s home, they found a significant amount of illegal substances…:

He says those drugs were worth about $7-thousand on the street.
