The Black and Gold will be on the road the next two weeks, at Jacksonville this Sunday and then Chicago the following week.

5th ranked LSU is nearly a two-touchdown favorite to beat the Gators on Saturday in Tiger Stadium. Florida is coming off a 24-13 win over Auburn, but their starting quarterback Kyle Trask, sprained his MCL and could be limited against the Tigers.

Tulane is receiving votes in the Top 25 poll. The Green Wave won their third straight as they defeated Army West Point 42-33. Tulane is back home this Saturday to host U-Conn.

Nicholls moved up to 12th in the latest FCS Coaches poll after beating Central Arkansas 34-14. Chase Fourcade threw for 327 yards and one touchdown. He also ran for a score. Southeastern Louisiana fell to 25th after losing to McNeese 38-34. Cody Orgeron led the Pokes with 248 yards passing and three touchdowns, while Elijah Mack had 142 yards.

President Trump announces a visit to Lake Charles scheduled for Friday in an effort to rally voters to show up to the polls on Saturday for the primary election and vote for one of the two GOP candidates in the Governor’s race.  Trump made the announcement Sunday via Twitter.

Saints Quarterback Teddy Bridgewater led the Saints to a 31-24 victory over the Tampa Bay Bucs to improve to 4-and-1 on the season. Bridgewater threw a career-high four touchdown passes. He also threw for 314 yards and finished with a quarterback rating of 131.2. Michael Thomas had 11 catches for 182 yards.

The Saints defense was also very good game as they held the Bucs to 3-of-11 on third down, 252 total yards and had six sacks. Bridgewater says the Saints have a lot of talent and chemistry…

Incumbent Jim Donelon has been blasted on the airwaves by attack ads, including one showing Donelon nodding off at some kind of public hearing. The narrator calls him “asleep at the wheel”…
