We don’t know what the NBC ratings for “The Voice” will be in Louisiana tonight, but best guess says they will be very strong. Seventeen year-old finalist Koryn Hawthorne from Abbeville dazzled the crowd last night on the live show, and tonight she’s up against three other finalists on the season finale for the Republic Records recording contract.

Harrison Cage is a prison trusty, who has worked at the mansion for eight years. Cage says he would like a sentence of 45 to 50 years, so he can seek parole.

UNO is looking for a new head baseball coach as the 74-year-old Ron Maestri has decided to step down. Maestri started the Privateers baseball program in 1972 and after taking a 28-year-absence, Maestri came back two years ago to get the program moving in the right direction.

And speaking of coaching, LSU’s Paul Mainieri has been named as the SEC Coach of the Year. Mainieri accepts the award on behalf of his entire staff…

The Iberville Parish Sheriff’s Office has booked a teacher on 37 counts of inappropriate behavior with students. Their website shows Keavin Keith, who was born in 1985, was charged with 30 counts of sex between student and teacher, 5 counts of carnal knowledge of a juvenile and 2 counts of indecent behavior with a juvenile. He teaches at Arts Academy West in Plaquemine.

State Police say a single vehicle crash in Jefferson Parish has taken the life of a Houma man. They say 25-year-old Edgard Gonzales lost control of his vehicle and entered a drainage ditch. The vehicle came to rest on its roof, partially submerged in water. Gonzales, who was not wearing a seat belt, was found submerged in the water outside the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
