A win for the Ragin Cajuns over in-state rival ULM will give U-L Lafayette a Sun Belt West Title, their fifth division championship in seven years. There’s also a chance they host the championship game. It could come down to tiebreakers based on online FBS rankings. Coach Michael Desormeaux says he’s focused on one thing…

Tomorrow is the Bayou Classic in the Superdome. Redshirt freshman Jalen Woods could get the start at quarterback after winning his first start at quarterback over Arkansas Pine-Bluff. Grambling has been stingy against the pass, allowing 181 passing yards a game and they have 14 interceptions.

The Saints will host the Rams on Sunday. New Orleans will try to go 3-and-0 with Darren Rizzi as its interim head coach.

17th ranked Tulane’s chances of getting into the College Football Playoff were dashed last night as they were upset at home by Memphis 34 to 24. The Green Wave will still play in the American Athletic Conference Championship game but Army will host if they beat U-T-S-A tomorrow.

Tomorrow night is senior night for the LSU Tigers as they host the Oklahoma Sooners. It’s O-U’s first ever visit to Tiger Stadium. Senior linebacker Greg Penn has held down the middle of the field this year and wears 18 on the defensive side of the ball. Penn came to Baton Rouge from Baltimore…

Louisiana Tech men’s basketball won all three games at the Gulf Coast Showcase in Estero Florida. Today the Bulldogs defeated Eastern Kentucky 78-69 as Daniel Batcho had 19 points.

The seventh ranked LSU women’s basketball team beat NC State 82-65. Mikayla Williams led the way with 24 points. Aneesah Morrow had 20 points and 15 rebounds.

The marquee game in the SEC this Saturday is the Texas-Texas A-and-M matchup in College Station. The winner will face Georgia in the SEC Title game. CBS Sports college football reporter Dennis Dodd says the Aggies can still earn a spot in the College Football Playoff despite three losses…

Louisiana Tech will wrap up it’s season in Ruston against Conference USA newcomer Kennesaw St Saturday. The Bulldogs are playing for pride at 4-and-7 despite boasting the nation’s 22nd-ranked defense. Coach Sonny Cumbie says first-year D-Coordinator Jeremiah Johnson transformed the 110th-ranked defense from a season ago…

The LSU women’s basketball team faces its first ranked opponent of the year today when they take on 20th ranked North Carolina State in the Bahamas. The Lady Tigers are undefeated while N-C State has two losses.

Louisiana Tech men remain undefeated after beating Richmond 65-62. Kaden Cooper had 16 points.

Wide receiver CJ Daniels has been playing college football for five years, but has one more year of eligibility left. Kelly believes Daniels will be back next season and he’s also hopeful injured linebacker

Nicholls Evan Roussell has been named the Southland Offensive lineman of the year. Roussell was the anchor of an offensive line that had one of the best rushing attacks in the FCS. Miequele Brock has been named Southland Freshman of the Year after rushing for 479 yards and three touchdowns. He also had 213 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

The Louisiana Tech Men’s team collected another tight win yesterday with an 85-79 overtime victory over Southern Illinois. Undefeated LA Tech will return to action against Richmond at 2:00 today.

UL-Lafayette have dropped 5-straight after losing 98-86 to UAB yesterday. The Cajuns will hope to snap the losing streak against Nicholls Saturday.

The seventh ranked LSU women’s basketball team improved 7-and-0 with a come from behind win over Washington 68 to 67 in The Bahamas. Kailyn Gilbert scored the winning basket with one second left.

Louisiana Tech men stayed undefeated by beating Southern Illinois in overtime 85 to 79. The Cajuns lost their fifth straight, falling to UAB 98 to 86.

Head coach Gary Goff didn’t win enough football games at McNeese and after three seasons he has been fired. The Cowboys went 10-and-23 under Goff’s leadership. Jim Gazzolo covers McNeese for the American Press and says two former McNeese players, Slade Nagle, who is an assistant coach at LSU and Kerry Josephy, who is the quarterbacks coach for the Chicago Bears are two possible replacements…

He arrived in Lake Charles in 2022 after leading Valdosta State to the Division Two national championship game in 2021. Jim Gazzolo with the American Press says despite inheriting a program not in good shape, he didn’t win enough games fast enough…

In Saturday’s 51-30 win over Troy, Redshirt senior Chandler Fields made his first start of the season at quarterback for the injured Ben Woolridge and threw for a career-high 323 yards and two touchdowns. Fields on his team’s big day…

This Saturday the Tigers will host Oklahoma in the regular season finale. The Sooners defense intercepted Jalen Milroe three times to upset Alabama 24-3

The LSU men’s basketball team needed three overtimes yesterday to defeat U-C-F 107 to 102. Jordan Sears had 25 points and Jalen Reed scored 21 points.

The Pelicans are at Indiana tonight. New Orleans is optimistic guard C-J McCollum will return after missing the last 13 games with a right adductor strain. Dejounte Murray is also close to coming back after breaking his left hand in the season opener.

The Ragin Cajuns are one win away from a Sun Belt Western division championship with a 51 to 30 win over Troy on Saturday. Coach Mike Desormeaux’s team is now 9-and-2 overall and 6-and-1 in league play…

U-L Lafayette can lock up a Sun Belt West Championship with a win over in-state rival ULM on Saturday at 11 AM. The Warhawks have lost five in a row and they are searching for one more win to become bowl eligible.

Gary Goff didn’t win enough at McNeese and after three seasons he was fired today. The Cowboys went six and six this season after failing to win a game on the field last year.

And Southeastern Louisiana did not make the F-C-S playoffs, despite finishing in second place in the Southland.
