State Police suspect driver impairment is the cause of a fiery single vehicle crash in St. Helena Parish that has claimed of a Greensburg man Friday afternoon. Twenty-three year-old Ramario Berry was a passenger in a Trailblazer driven by thirty-seven year-old Lamar Williams.

While there has been no official word from the team, NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport tweeted that the New Orleans Saints have parted ways with tight ends coach Terry Malone and wide receivers coach Henry Ellard. There’s also a report the Saints fired assistant defensive backs coach Andre Curtis. No word on defensive coordinator Rob Ryan.

Yesterday, deputies responded to a report of a cockfight in a wooded area with a gathering of about 3 dozen people. State Police are investigating a two car crash on Highway 17 in Franklin Parish that has claimed the life of a Delhi man, after a 16 year-old driver in a truck crossed over the center line. Forty-seven year-old Drue Randolph died at the scene. The teenaged driver suffered minor injuries.

Louisiana’s Economic Development Secretary Stephen Moret anticipates significant growth in 2015 as a result of the new projects they announced last year. He says a lot of that will take place in the high tech and the software development industry. Louisiana announced dozens of company expansions or re-locations last year which Moret says will result in 25,000 new jobs.

Three people were killed on New Year’s eve night in a two-vehicle crash in Livingston Parish. State Police trooper Jared Sandifer says 24-year-old Trinity Kiger of Satsuma hit another vehicle near Walker, killing himself and two others inside the other vehicle….

Sad Alabama fans are leaving Louisiana today. They watched the Crimson Tide lose last night in the Sugar Bowl as Ohio State pulled off the upset with a 42-35 victory in the Mercedes Benz Superdome. The win for the Buckeyes puts them in the national championship game against Oregon on January 12th. That game will be played in Dallas.
