The premiere of Duck Dynasty Season 7 is on A & E tonight at 8:30, and some media research experts are saying the show is losing it’s luster. The ratings projections show the premiere will have one fourth the audience they had for season 4, when Duck Dynasty attracted 12 million viewers. Still, they say 3 million is very strong for cable and for A & E.

A Thibodaux High School teacher has been charged for having sexual contact with a student. The LaFourche Parish Sheriff’s Office says they learned of the alleged sexual incident between twenty-five year-old Celeste Bergeron and a 17 year-old student. Bergeron admitted to the sexual contact, and the LaFourche Parish School Board Superintent Jo Ann Mathews says Bergeron is no longer employed by the school system.

With the coldest night of the winter so far tonight, Louisianians will be looking at ways to keep warm for the hard freeze. State Fire Marshal Butch Browning says this kind of very intense cold weather brings an increase in home fires, particularly because of space heaters…

The Monroe Police Department says they’ve recovered the body of a 38-year-old man from Rayville in a private pond. They say Clarence Dean Roy Jr. was reported missing after he left a construction site in western Ouachita Parish and was located Tuesday afternoon in the water near the work site. Foul play is not suspected. Cops believe Roy had a medical issue.

Police in Baton Rouge say a 12-year-old boy is in critical condition after a car served off the road and hit him while he was walking to school this morning. They believe it was a mechanical program with the vehicle which caused the driver to lose control and hit the boy walking along a nearby sidewalk. Cops say the driver isn’t cited and the crash is under investigation.

The Kaplan Police Department says an Abbeville High School teacher is in jail accused of having sex with one of his female juvenile students. Chief Boyd Adams says they originally received the complaint about 36-year-old Nicholas Willis from Abbeville Police…:

Most of the state will be on the hook for a hard freeze warning from the National Weather Service tonight through mid-morning Thursday. Wind Advisories have also been issued. Temps could be in the middle teens to lower 20s in some places and are expected to last up to 12 hours.

Season 7 of Duck Dynasty begins tonight and some are saying nobody cares anymore. Emily Yahr, who is an entertainment reporter for The Washington Post, says compared to the nearly 12 million people who tuned in for the season 4 premiere, that was down to less than 3 million for season 6 last November. She says the hilarious “wow factor” of how the family interacts with each other is wearing off…:

ESPN is reporting Rob Ryan will remain the defensive coordinator for the New Orleans Saints. The same sources report there will be other changes to the defensive coaching staff and personnel but Ryan, whose status was thought to be in limbo after a tough 7-9 season, will remain with the Black and Gold.
