Police in Houston say Hamilton was fatally shot by a woman who was also found dead in what appears to be a murder-suicide.

The Shreveport Police Department says a one year old child died after a large item of furniture fell on top of her. Corporal Marcus Hines says cops were called out to an apartment complex shortly after 8pm Monday in reference to a toddler who was deceased inside…:

The mother was home asleep at the time. Hines says the investigation is ongoing but it appears this was a tragedy and no charges are filed at this time.

Police are looking into the circumstances surrounding a 1-year-old child getting electrocuted in West Baton Rouge Parish. Investigators were told by the mother that Kristiana Tillman of Addis was playing outside and grabbed an exposed air conditioning wire and was electrocuted and died. They don’t suspect foul play and it’s not known if charges with be filed.

Lt Governor Jay Dardenne has learned Disney-ABC has placed a moratorium on new projects in Louisiana as a result of Governor Bobby Jindal signing into law a new 180-million dollar cap on film tax credits redeemed. Dardenne says one problem with the new law is that the credit is claimed on the “backend” which creates a level of uncertainty whether a credit will be honored by the state…

The St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s office is looking for missing 17-year-old Alexandria Davis who they believe could be underage stripping. Lt. The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office says a 19-year-old Lake Charles man has been arrested for allegedly raping a 7-year-old boy. Authorities say the victim told them he was playing video games at Ivan Monceaux III’s home when he was sexually assaulted. Monceaux is charged with one count of aggravated rape.

Shreveport Police are currently investigating the tragic death of a 1-year-old child. Authorities say the little girl was asleep in her bed when her 2-year-old sister began climbing on a dresser. They say the dresser fell on the 1-year-old, killing her. Detectives report the children’s mother was asleep in another room when the accident occurred. It is not known, at this time, if any criminal charges will be filed.

Sad news involving former Nicholls State baseball standout Darryl Hamilton. The Baton Rouge native was found dead in suburban Houston in an apparent murder-suicide. Authorities believe a 44-year-old woman shot Hamilton numerous times, before turning the gun on herself. Hamilton played 13 seasons in the big leagues. He was 50-years-old.

IBM reportedly cancelled a ribbon cutting ceremony that was scheduled for today at the company’s new National Service Center in downtown Baton Rouge, as a result of Governor Bobby Jindal’s religious freedom executive order. In April, an IBM exectuve sent Jindal a letter expressing their objection to a religious freedom bill that Jindal supported in the legislative session.

The next Voice of the Tigers is Georgia Southern’s play-by-play man Chris Blair. Jim Hawthorne will retire following the 2015-16 men’s basketball season. Blair says when he applied for Hawthorne’s job, he never imagined he would be the one selected…:

The New Orleans Police Department says the suspect wanted in the killing of NOPD officer Daryle Holloway is being held with no bond. 33-year-old Travis Boys was arrested Sunday after being spotted trying to board a bus in the Lower 9th Ward. Boys is accused of killing Holloway early Saturday morning, as the victim was transporting the man to the Orleans Parish Prison.

A preliminary autopsy report could be released today on 32-year-old Kevin Bajoie of Zachary, who died after he was tased by two Baton Rouge police officers. Corporal Don Coppola says initially just one officer tased the Bajoie to try to get him into custody…:
