Seventeen-year-old Markel Lee faces one count of first-degree murder and five counts of attempted first-degree murder. According to arrest documents, surveillance video shows Lee was firing a semi-automatic pistol. Also, Baton Rouge Police says they are no longer looking for a second suspected shooter, the man they showed an image of as wanted, has now been identified and B-R-P-D says he’s only wanted for questioning.

Authorities say 31-year-old Cole Thomas Allen from California exchanged gunfire with law enforcement as he tried to rush past security checkpoint. He was allegedly armed with multiple guns and knives.

A bill heading to the House floor seeks to give the governor and statewide elected officials a significant pay raise. Harahan Representative John Illg is proposing that the governor’s salary be 35 percent of the average base pay for Louisiana’s university system presidents, and for other statewide elected officials, it would be 30 percent…

Four men have been charged in the 1982 rape and murder of Roxanne Sharp. Her body was discovered in a wooded area near the St. Tammany Parish Fairgrounds in Covington. Trooper Marc Gremillion says a podcast produced by Charles Dowdy with the Northshore Media Group helped spark renewed interest in the case that led to closure for the families…
