A woman was killed in a shooting on Bourbon Street early this morning. Police responded to a report of a shooting on the 400 block of Bourbon Street before 1:30 this morning. The woman was taken to the hospital and died of her injuries.

The Louisiana Republican Party endorsed Louisiana Board of Regents Chairwoman Misti Cordell in the fifth district congressional race. State Representative Gabe Firment says while the lack of endorsement from the state Republican party doesn’t matter to him, he does have some questions about the process.
