State Police say a man was killed and his wife seriously injured when the motorcycle they were riding collided with a deer near Leesville. They say 53-year-old Gordon Bolton was killed and 57-year-old Monika Bolton was injured after both thrown from the bike as a result of the collision. Authorities say both were wearing helmets. The investigation is ongoing.

Training has begun for State Police Cadet Class #93 to earn the privilege of wearing the “gold boot” badge of the Louisiana State Police. A Church Point woman and her two children that had been missing since Tuesday have been found found safe. The LSU Tigers finish their regular season on a positive note as they downed Texas A&M last night 23-17. Freshman running back Leonard Fournette rushed for 146 yards and one touchdown as LSU racked up 384 rushing yards on the game, the most in an SEC game since 1997. The Tigers finish the regular season with an 8-4 overall record, 4-4 in the SEC.

Several metro areas in Louisiana are in jeopardy of not meeting new Environmental Protection Agency federal ozone standards. State Department of Environmental Quality spokesperson Greg Langley says the new rules will take effect next October, but first there’s a 90-day comment period…
