There was a I-10 traffic nightmare around 8 o’clock this morning between Lafayette and Baton Rouge, as two 18-wheelers collided with another vehicle, and spilled diesel fuel near Grosse Tete (TATE). The I-10 was for about 6 hours for clean-up, and reopened mid-afternoon. State Troopers say there were no serious injuries.

In Union Parish, an Arkansas woman is dead and a Monroe man has been seriously injured in a single vehicle crash at the intersection of Highways 15 and 549. State Police say that fifty-nine year-old Thomas Bates of Monroe lost control, and rolled the vehicle. Neither Bates not 26 year-old Donyalle Harris were wearing seatbelts and were ejected.

Louisiana has joined 16 other states in filing a federal lawsuit which questions President Obama’s recent executive order dealing with immigration. The lawsuit claims the President’s action violated the “Take Care Clause” of the Constitution which limits the scope of presidential power.
