A Shreveport man is facing charges after he allegedly offered to give two teenagers a ride home, instead took them to a local hotel room and tried to sexually assault them. Shreveport Police Corporal Chris Bordelon says the teenagers made a bad decision in getting into Reed’s vehicle. They did not know him

He says the juvenile who escaped alerted the authorities. Bordelon says officers rushed to the hotel to arrest Reed.

The hype is coming to a head — just a couple days until the Eagles and the Chiefs do battle in Super Bowl 59 at the Superdome. Who do people think will win? With two evenly-matched teams, opinions are mixed.

Super Bowl Sunday is the biggest sports betting event of the year, and Super Bowl LIX  is expected to break records. Adam Thompson with Bookies-dot-com  says one notable prop bet is Saquon Barkley to record 10-plus rushing yards in each quarter.

The average live price for crawfish has dropped $1.20 a pound heading into Super Bowl weekend. That’s according to Laney King with the Crawfish App, who says this is shaping up to be a much better crawfish season than last year…

King says if you purchase boiled crawfish from your favorite spot, expect to pay around $7.10 a pound and a 35-pound sack is going for around 165-dollars.

An arrest has been made in connection with the death of a Kansas City sports reporter in New Orleans was covering the Super Bowl. Kenner Police have taken Danette Colbert into custody after he allegedly used 27-year-old Adan Manzano’s credit card at several stores in the New Orleans area. Currently Colbert is only facing property crimes, but police say she has a history of drugging men.

Especially in light of what happened New Year’s Day, security along Bourbon Street is tighter than it’s ever been before…

Shreveport Police say two teenagers survived a harrowing experience when they accepted a ride from a stranger and instead of being driven home, they were taken to a local hotel room. Corporal Chris Bordelon says Jeffrey Reed did not allow the teens to leave, once he got them in that hotel room…

Bordelon says one of the teens did escape and alerted authorities who rushed to the hotel and arrested Reed.

Crawfish lovers gearing up for a Super Bowl weekend boil can expect lower prices than anticipated. Following a historic snowstorm, supply has rebounded, driving prices down by about a dollar per pound. Crawfish App Founder Laney King says live crawfish on average will run you $4.79 per pound.

King says crawfish prices were almost doubled at this time last year.

An arrest has been made in connection with the death of a sports reporter who was in New Orleans covering the Super Bowl. Twenty-seven-year-old Adam Manzano was found dead in his Kenner hotel room. Manzano was covering the game for Telemundo KC. Kenner Police say they have taken Danette Colbert of Slidell into custody. Police say Colbert used Manzano’s credit card at multiple stores and surveillance video shows her leaving his  hotel room alone. Authorities also Colbert has a history of financial crimes that include drugging men, stealing their money and using their credit cards.

Meanwhile, security is very tight on Bourbon Street. This man a massive police presence is a necessity for big events…

A Shreveport man is facing charges after he allegedly kidnapped two teenagers and attempted to sexually assault them. Corporal Chris Bordelon with the Shreveport Police Department says a 13 and a 14-year-old were walking down the street during the middle of the night when Jeffrey Reed drove by and offered the teens a ride…

The escaped teen contacted authorities who rushed to the hotel to arrest Reed.

Hubers served 14 years in the Army National Guard, before she was forced to medically retire. She returns to New Orleans for the first time since her deployment to the city after Hurricane Katrina, which she was difficult…

Greg Brooks Junior’s lawyers have fired back at LSU Coach Brian Kelly. Kelly said on Wednesday he’s been part of Brooks’ recovery from brain surgery that  left him permanently disabled. But in a statement released by Brooks’ legal team, they stand by the Good Morning America report that Kelly has not reached out since October 2023, which was just after his surgery.

Commanders quarterback and LSU star Jayden Daniels is the Offensive Rookie of the Year. Daniels received the award last night at the NFL Honors Award Show in New Orleans. Jay Kid received all but one first place vote. And for the second time in his career, quarterback Joe Burrow was named NFL Comeback Player of the Year. Burrow returned from a wrist injury to have his best season of his career.

New Orleans native Eli Manning will have to wait another year to get into the NFL Hall of Fame. He is not part of the 2025 class that features Jared Allen, Sterling Sharpe, Eric Allen and Antonio Gates. Allen spent three seasons in New Orleans in the mid-90s.

In basketball last night…Louisiana Tech men lost to Liberty 77 to 53, ninth ranked LSU women’s basketball downed Missouri 71 to 60 as Flau’Jae Johnson scored 19 points and the Lady Techsters rallied to beat Liberty 67 to 66. Paris Bradley hit the game winning shot and finished with 19 points.

Sunday is the Super Bowl and Kansas City is trying to become the first NFL team to win three consecutive Super Bowls. Chiefs Safety Justin Reid from Prairieville says it would be an amazing accomplishment…

It’s Super Bowl weekend in New Orleans and especially in light of what happened New Year’s Day, security along Bourbon Street is tighter than it’s ever been before. Andrew Greenstein spoke with Bourbon Street visitors.

A dense fog advisory is in effect until 10 AM for the southern half of the state today. The fog is mixing with smoke from a marsh fire in St. Charles Parish which has resulted in near zero visibility conditions for some areas.

Super Bowl Pregame festivities in the Superdome will certainly have a Louisiana flair. New Orleans native Jon Batiste will sing the national anthem, Lafayette’s Lauren Daigle along with Trombone Shorty from New Orleans will perform God Bless America. And before that, the Southern University Human Jukebox Marching Band will entertain the crowd. Band director Kedric Taylor…

A decorated Army veteran from South Dakota returns to New Orleans for the first time today since performing clean-up work following Hurricane Katrina and she will get to go to the Super Bowl. Staff Sergeant Kim Hubers is one of a few military veterans that have received tickets for the game, and she can’t believe it…

USAA teamed up with former LSU star and Vikings receiver Justin Jefferson to award Hubers a trip to the Super Bowl and game tickets. Jefferson is her favorite player.

LSU football coach Brian Kelly strongly denies the accusation he was not there for former Tigers safety Greg Brooks Junior following his brain surgery. In an interview on ABC’s Good Morning America, Brooks’ father said no one from LSU’s coaching staff has reached out since October 2023.  But Coach Kelly says HE loves Greg Brooks Junior, and it is factually incorrect to say he was not there by his side through this ordeal…

But an attorney for Greg Brooks Junior released a statement today that said in reality Coach Kelly has not contacted Greg Brooks Junior in over 16 months.

The Brooks family is suing LSU and Our Lady of the Lake Hospital, alleging his cancer diagnosis was mishandled and so was his brain surgery.

There is certainly Kansas City Chiefs fatigue heading into the Super Bowl. K-C is seeking to win the Super Bowl for a record third consecutive year and this is there fifth appearance in the game in six years. The Chiefs beat the Eagles in Super Bowl 57 two years ago. Former Saints defensive back CJ Gardner Johnson was on that Philadelphia team. He now gets to play a Super Bowl in New Orleans. He spent his first three seasons in the NFL with the Saints. Gardner-Johnson says it was a surreal moment when he stepped on to the Superdome turf earlier this week…

The French Quarter will have its busiest weekend since New Year’s Day which ended tragically with the terror attack on Bourbon Street that killed 14 people. That event and the snowstorm led to lower business sales in January. But Kelly Henderson, manager at Fat Catz Music Club on Bourbon Street says he’s more upset about the lives lost…

Egg prices are soaring as a result of the bird flu, which has resulted in fewer chickens that can lay eggs. Louisiana Agriculture Commissioner Mike Strain says it will take some time to restock poultry houses and vaccinate the hens…

Bad night for the most part for Louisiana college basketball teams last night…LSU hit nine first-half three-pointers but played poorly again in the second half and lost to Georgia 81 to 62. Georgia State hammered ULM 97 to 64. Georgia Southern edged the Ragin Cajuns 83 to 82, but Tulane topped UTSA 61 to 60 in San Antoinio. The Green Wave are now 7-and-3 in the American Athletic Conference.

Tonight, Louisiana Tech is at Liberty looking for its first conference road win and the sixth ranked LSU women’s basketball team in Missouri at 6:30.

The Pelicans lost their seventh straight last night, falling to the Denver Nuggets 144 to 119. But the big story is New Orleans has traded Brandon Ingram to the Toronto Raptors for a couple of bench players and a couple of draft picks. Ingram was part of the blockbuster 2019 Anthony Davis trade. Ingram is averaging 22 points a game this season, but has not played since December because of an ankle injury.
