Now we wait and see if Kellen Moore will be named the new head coach of the Saints. Reports indicated that the Eagles offensive coordinator was the team’s choice to be their new head coach.

The fifth ranked LSU women’s basketball team is now in a three-way tie for first place in the Southeastern Conference after beating Tennessee for a second time this season. 82 to 77 was the final score yesterday in the PMAC. The Lady Tigers improve to 10-and-1 in the SEC and are tied with Texas and South Carolina. The Longhorns defeated the Gamecocks yesterday and LSU visits Texas this Sunday.

In men’s hoops, LSU’s season went from bad to worse on Saturday night as Coach Matt McMahon’s team coughed up an 11 point lead with three minutes to go and lost to Ole Miss 72 to 70. McMahon’s Tigers have lost six straight…

Families interested in accessing state funds to pay for tuition, tutoring, textbooks, dual enrollment courses and uniforms from the new L-A Gator Scholarship program can do so by going to la-gator-dot-la-dot-gov. The L-A Gator Scholarship program will replace the state’s current voucher program that benefits low income families. How much money will be available for L-A Gator is unknown…

A state judge in Baton Rouge will hear arguments this afternoon about a case involving an LSU law professor who has been suspended from the classroom, because he used curse words and said unflattering things about President Trump and Governor Landry. Professor Ken Levy has sued LSU saying his rights to free speech were violated.

Louisiana State University at Alexandria is ranked #4 in Niche’s 2025 Best Colleges in Louisiana. Chancellor Paul Coreil says this coincides with a record-high Spring semester enrollment of nearly seven-thousand undergraduates, a 28% surge, the highest growth rate among Louisiana universities.

Coreil says a significant driver of LSU’s growth is the number of students taking online courses through LSU-A. Nearly 4,000 students, a 46% increase in just one year.

The state department of education has launched a website where residents can learn more about the L-A Gator Scholarship Program which will provide vouchers to students to attend private schools. Germain Gilson with the state department of education says this program is open to all income levels, not just low-income families under the current Louisiana Scholarship Program, those in that program shouldn’t worry about being left out.

The legislature is only going to set aside a limited amount of money for L-A GATOR, so it’s unclear at this time how many additional families the state will accommodate.

LSU-Alexandria is the fastest growing four-year school in Louisiana as it’s enrollment has increased by 28-percent to reach an all-time high of 69-hundred students. Chancellor Paul Coreil says more students are choosing LSU-A because they recognize the school is providing high-qualify, affordable education that leads to career opportunities…

 During Kendric Lamar’s halftime show, security personnel ran onto the field and tackled a man who was running around holding up a Sudanese-Palestinian flag. “Sudan” and “Gaza” were written on it. The NFL says the person detained was one of Lamar’s performers and no one involved with the production knew that this individual would do this.

The REAL ID enforcement date is approaching, and the Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles urges residents to get one if you have not. Because after May 7th, federal agencies, including the TSA, will only accept driver’s licenses and ID cards that are REAL ID. OMV spokesperson Matthew Boudreaux says visit express-lane-dot-org for a checklist on what you’ll need to get a REAL ID.

Boudreaux says they expect an influx of residents at OMV offices and partnering Public Tag Agents as they approach the May 7th enforcement date, so don’t wait until the last minute.

The Philadelphia Eagles put together one of the most dominating performances in Super Bowl history to dethrone the two-time defending champion Kansas City Chiefs 40 to 22. Philadelphia’s defense harassed Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, while Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts threw two touchdown passes and had one rushing touchdown. Now we wait and see if Siriani will lose his offensive coordinator Kellen Moore. Moore is expected to be named the new head coach of the Saints, but Siriani said during the celebration that he would like Moore to come back one more season to defend their title in 2025.

By all accounts New Orleans did a great job hosting the Super Bowl and they are expected to put a bid in to host a 12th Super Bowl sometime after 2028.

Super Bowl 59 was a one-sided affair as the Philadelphia Eagles crushed the Kansas City Chiefs 40 to 22. The game’s MVP, Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts, overcame an early interception to throw for 221 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed for 72 yards and a touchdown.

Coach Nick Siriani led the Eagles to their second Super Bowl since 2018 and is proud his team overcame adversity…

There’s a three-way tie for first place in SEC women’s basketball. LSU improved to 10-and-1 in league play with an 82 to 77 win over Tennessee on Sunday. And second ranked South Carolina’s 57-game SEC winning streak is over as fourth ranked Texas defeated the Gamecocks 66 to 62. Texas, South Carolina and LSU are tied for first. LSU is at Texas next Sunday.

Germain Gilson, the assistant superintendent of school choice, says families can use the money to customize their children’s education.

The LSU men’s basketball team will look to snap its five-game losing streak on Saturday night when they host 25th ranked Ole Miss. These two teams played in Oxford earlier this season and the Rebels won by a dozen points. Tip-off on Saturday night is at 7:30.

Louisiana Tech will try again for its first conference road victory of the season when they take on F-I-U. The Bulldogs three game were outplayed by Liberty on Thursday night, falling 73 to 57.

The Ragin Cajuns take a break from Sun Belt play to take on Northern Illinois in Dekalb.

The big game in the Southland Conference on Saturday, will happen in Lake Charles as McNeese hosts Northwestern State. The Demons are 7-and-5 in league play, while the Cowboys are 11-and-1.

Southern will try to stay undefeated in the SWAC as they visit Alabama A-and-M.

The sixth-ranked LSU women’s basketball team has a big game in the P-MAC as they host 19th-ranked Tennessee. Tip-off on Super Bowl Sunday is at 3 PM.

Staff Sergeant Kim Hubers is one of a few disabled military veterans that have received tickets to the game, and she can’t believe it…
