LSU rose to tenth in the top 25 after a 63-14 win over McNeese. Freshman defensive tackle Deuce Geralds was again fantastic, recording his fifth sack of the season and scoring a rushing touchdown. He is now just two and a half sacks shy of Harold Perkins’s LSU freshman record, and he says he plans on leaving it in the dust.
A pair of Louisiana natives who are now Kentucky Wildcats took home SEC honors this week. Former Airline High School receiver Kenny Darby was named Co-freshman of the Week after setting a program record with 12 receptions for 96 yards and a touchdown in Kentucky’s 35-34 win over South Carolina. Bastrop and Neville High School product Lance Heard was named Offensive Lineman of the Week. LSU travels to Lexington this weekend.
LSU basketball received a commitment from five-star combo guard King Gibson. He is a consensus top-16 prospect in the class of 2027 and chose the Tigers over Louisville, Arkansas, Michigan and others.
The Saints will look to commemorate 20 years since the “Rebirth” game with another win over the Falcons in the Superdome tonight. The black and gold will be without edge rusher Carl Granderson and linebacker Kaden Elliss, and linebacker Pete Werner is questionable. Second-year linebacker Danny Ststutsman says he’ll have to step up.

Louisiana Tech got back on track with a 31-29 win over Army in their final game before Sun Belt action. The Bulldogs put up 503 yards of offense, 200 of which came from running back Dylone Brooks. Head coach Sonny Cumbie says they’re looking to take that momentum into conference play
