Saints Quarterback Drew Brees says the timeline on his return has been set at six to eight weeks. But Brees believes he can come back sooner from his injury. He’ll be on the sidelines for Sunday night’s game versus Dallas in street clothes.

SeatGeek says the Saints-Cowboys game in the Superdome is the hottest selling ticket of the week. Spokesperson Chris Leyden says their lowest ticket prices are hovering around 150-dollars, while the average cost of a ticket is about 500-dollars. Fellow wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase has been added to the Biletnikoff Award Watch List, which goes to the country’s most outstanding receiver.

UL-Lafayette and Adidas have extended their deal that keeps the Portland, Oregon based company as the official athletic footwear, apparel and accessory brand for the Cajuns through the 2021-22 season.

The Saints are putting rookie linebacker Kaden Elliss on injured reserve. The 7th round draft pick out of Idaho suffered a knee injury in the win over Seattle. Elliss played on special teams and just started filling in for the injured Alex Anzalone. The Black and Gold are bringing back former first-round pick Stephone Anthony to take Elliss’ spot on the roster.

After losing its season opener to Texas, Louisiana Tech has won three straight and will visit the Rice Owls this Saturday. Bulldogs Coach Skip Holtz is interested to see if his team can keep the win streak going on the road…

Good news for anglers. The Department of Wildlife and Fisheries will re-open the recreational red snapper season for the next two weekends. Based on LA Creel surveys, the estimate red snapper landings still has not reached the quota for the year, therefore the state can provide additional fishing days.

Saints Punter Thomas Morstead is the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week. Morstead averaged 54 yards a punt in the 33-27 win over Seattle.

McNeese dropped its Southland opener last week to Abilene Christian and this Saturday the Cowboys return home to host Sam Houston State. McNeese scored 34 points in a season-opening win over Southern, but since then they’ve scored 41 points in three games. First-year head coach Sterling Gilbert believes hard work will eventually produce better results

Tommy Hodson and JaMarcus Russell are the only quarterbacks in LSU history to earn SEC Offensive Player of the Week three times in a season. LSU football fans will have to get ready for another 11 AM kick-off. The SEC announced today that the Tigers next game on October 5th, will kick-off at 11 AM against Utah State. An LSU official says they can’t find a time when the Tigers had back-to-back morning kickoffs.

Tigers wide receiver Terrace Marshall underwent surgery to repair a stress fracture in his foot. He’s expected to miss up to a month of the season. Quarterback Joe Burrow says Marshall’s absence will be felt…

After spending a week out on the west coast, the Saints flew back to New Orleans after the game. They’ll now get ready to host Dallas for a big Sunday night showdown. The Cowboys are 3-0 after beating the Dolphins 31-6. Dallas is undefeated, but its wins have come against Miami, Washington and the New York Giants, three of the worst teams in the NFL.

After four games, LSU leads the nation in scoring, averaging nearly 58 points a game. The 231 points scored represents an SEC record for most points through four games. The 66 scored this past Saturday against Vanderbilt is the highest ever for LSU in an SEC game that didn’t go into overtime. But the Tigers once-dominant defense struggled in Nashville with missed assignments and poor tackling. Coach Ed Orgeron says they’ll work on it during the bye week…
