The Shreveport Police Department says they will not rest until the find the killer of 29-year-old Officer Thomas LaValley. Chief Willie Shaw says the 4-year-veteran of the force was responding to a suspicious-person call at a residence when he confronted 27-year-old Grover Cannon, who then shot the cop multiple times. Three of the four gubernatorial candidates are currently at a forum in Baton Rouge talking about issues which impact older adults. NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center updated 2015 Atlantic Hurricane Outlook is now calling for a 90% chance of a below-normal season. Lead seasonal hurricane forecaster, Gerry Bell, says a below normal-season is now even more likely than the 70% they predicted in May..:

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office says a Lake Charles man faces charges in the hit-and-run death of a pedestrian. They say 27-year-old Jeremy Daniels was walking on the side of the road when he was struck and killed by a truck driven by 19-year-old Grant Henning. Henning, who fled the scene without rendering aid, is charged with felony hit-and-run.

A Paulina man has been arrested after taking a drive through two fences and ended up on an active runway at Armstrong International Airport in Kenner. Jefferson Parish Deputies they found the abandoned blue Challenger on the runway just after 1pm this afternoon, but did eventually find twenty-three years old Kaleb Clement, and booked him with hit and run driving and DWI.
