Louisiana’s unclaimed property program is now connected to a national database where you can check to see if you are owed money from one of 49 states. State Treasurer John Schroder says if you’ve lived in other places you can check on one secure website-Missing Money.com

Two juveniles and one adult have been arrested in connection to a homicide in Vivian. The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office says on Thursday they responded to a shooting and the male juvenile victim died at the hospital. They have arrested a 17-year-old male for second-degree murder, a 16-year-old for illegal possession of a handgun, and 20-year-old Marty Whatley faces numerous charges including aggravated assault.

The state fire marshal’s office says two people died in a house fire in Winnsboro yesterday. The victims are an elderly male and a middle-aged woman. Investigators are looking into unattended cooking as a potential cause of the deadly fire.

The U-S Coast Guard has suspended its search for four individuals who were on a helicopter that crashed into the Gulf of Mexico ten miles off of Southwest Pass, Louisiana.

2022 ends with New Orleans as America’s Murder Capital with the most killings per capita. Violent crime in the Crescent City has reached levels not seen in more than 25 years. Morale with the New Orleans Police Department is low and the number of cops has fallen below 900. Metropolitan Crime Commission President Rafael Goyeneche says low pay has been an issue…

A shocking story out of Winn Parish; a 5-month-old baby girl who died last week was determined to be a murder victim…and the suspect is the child’s 11-year-old sibling.
