Researchers have uncovered what may be a link between poor sleep and an increased risk for Alzheimer’s Disease. Director of Imaging at LSU’s Pennington Biomedical Research Center Owen Carmichael says there’s a protein produced throughout a person’s life that he calls the “garbage of the brain.” Carmichael says that Alzheimer’s is caused when there is too much of this protein stored up and not emptied out…

More information is being distributed to the public about Louisiana’s safe haven law, which allows parents to legally give up a baby until they’re two months old. Department of Children and Family Services Secretary Suzy Sonnier says a mom or dad can give their infant to an individual at a number of safe haven locations, but cannot leave the baby unattended…
