Tropical Storm Eduard is expected to make landfall later today near the Louisiana-Texas line. LSU Health Climatologist Barry Keim says additional strengthening is expected and it could potentially become a hurricane. He says southwest Louisiana will see rain, gusty winds and a minor storm surge, but the heaviest rainfall totals are expected in Texas.

An advocacy group is suing the Louisiana Department of Corrections over keeping people behind bars past their scheduled release dates. Promise of Justice Initiative Attorney Cecelia Kappel says it’s been happening for a while, and though she has no reason to believe it’s happening on purpose, it’s still inexcusable.

NFL rosters are down to 53 players as we move closer to the start of the regular season. The Saints decided to keep both backup quarterbacks, Spencer Rattler and Zach Wilson on the active roster. New Orleans has not named which one will be the immediate back up for Tyler Shough.
