The veto of the concealed carry bill on the heels of a veto to ban transgender females from competing in women’s sports has increased the likelihood of the first-ever veto session to be called.

The U-S Senate is off this week, but work continues to firm up an infrastructure bill that could result in nearly one trillion dollars being spent on roads and bridges. LSU Political Science Professor Robert Hogan says President Biden has suggested he also wants another piece of legislation that expands social programs to be approved as well…

But Biden issued a statement on Saturday that his Families Plan legislation does not need to pass in order for him to support the infrastructure bill.

Lafayette Police detectives are investigating a fatal drive-by shooting where two people were killed last night on North University Avenue. In Monroe, deputies arrested 35-year-old Bobby Koch in the parking lot of the Ouachita Correctional Center. Koch allegedly told deputies God Told him to come there and he also told officers he got hight on methamphetamine.
