Louisiana shrimpers are asking the federal government for help. Andrew Greenstein reports.

According to Triple-A, the diesel prices in Louisiana have never been higher The statewide average for a gallon of diesel gasoline is $5.58, which is a record high. The price for a gallon of regular gasoline also jumped another four-cents overnight to a statewide average of $3.85 a gallon.

 

Tomorrow is the 25th anniversary of the nine-eleven terrorist attacks. Louisiana’s governor at the time was the late Mike Foster, who was in Lexington, Kentucky, on that day for the Southern Governor’s Association Conference. His press secretary, Marsanne Golsby, says they were eating breakfast when the attack began.

Golsby says the hotel emptied out quickly over concerns it could also be targeted because it was filled with elected officials from multiple states.

The SEC presidents and chancellors are meeting today and no longer on the agenda is a vote to expel LSU from the conference. LSU’s decision not to add Dae’Quan Wright and Zxavian Harris to roster after they were on NFL training camp rosters last month has put an end to the legal fight. Tiger Rag Editor Glenn Guilbeau says it’s good to see the SEC is no longer trying to remove a charter member of its conference from the league…
