The Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s office has arrested a 13-year-old student after a gun was found inside Evergreen Junior High in Houma. Officers placed the school on lockdown Friday after learning a student might have a firearm. During a search, police found the student in a boys’ bathroom with a loaded handgun. No injuries were reported. The student is now detained at the Terrebonne Parish Juvenile Justice Complex pending a court appearance.
Zero hurricanes in the Atlantic through the end of September is certainly rare. Fresh off their come from behind road win against the Baltimore Ravens the Saints welcome the undefeated Las Vegas Raiders to town for their home opener. The Raiders come into the Superdome having beaten the Dolphins and the Chargers in their first two games of the season. Saints Head Coach Kellen Moore says this Raiders team is not the same one that finished with the NFL’s worst record a year ago.
