The Louisiana Legislature has passed a bill that sets new election dates for the suspended U-S House races. The elections will move back to an Open Primary with the primary set for November third and a December 12th runoff House Governmental Affairs Chairman Beau Beaullie was asked if it’s legal to have the Senate races as closed primaries while the House races are open primaries…

Qualifying for U-S House open primaries will be August 5th through the 7th.

Coming up today on the Senate floor, Louisiana Senators will debate the bill that would return the state’s Congressional District map to five Republican majority districts and one Democratic majority district. The House Democratic delegation knows they do not have the votes to stop it, so litigation is likely once the bill is signed by Governor Landry.

 

Louisiana students continue to outperform most students when it comes to reading and math growth. According to a new report from the Education Scorecard, Louisiana ranked first among states in reading growth and second in math progress from 2022 to 2025. Governor Landry says when the same report came out last year, Louisiana held the same rankings in both metrics in the period from 2019-2024….
