The bitter legal fight between LSU and the SEC over the eligibility of two football players with recent NFL ties appears to be winding down, with LSU no longer facing the threat of expulsion from the conference. A vote on whether LSU should remain in the SEC is no longer on the agenda for today’s meeting of the league’s presidents and chancellors. Tiger Rag Editor Glenn Guilbeau says the fact that SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey threatened to kick LSU out of the conference still doesn’t look good.

The shrimping season is off to a slow start according to the president of the Louisiana Shrimp Association. Acy Cooper says many shrimp boats are docked, because imported shrimp is undercutting domestic shrimp. Cooper says President Trump’s tariffs on shrimp imports are having a very limited effect, so he’s now asking for limits on shrimp imports.

Cooper says a member of the White House reached out to him after he sent a letter to the President. He’s asking consumers to buy domestic shrimp even if it costs more than imported shrimp.
Tomorrow is the 25th anniversary of Nine-eleven. Mike Foster was the governor of Louisiana at that time and on that day, he was at the Southern Governor’s Association Conference. His press secretary, Marasanne Golsby says once it became clear that this was a terrorist attack, the hotel emptied out quickly over concerns it could also be targeted because it was filled with elected officials from multiple states.
