Attorneys representing Dae’Quan Wright and Zxavien Harris are fighting the SEC’s new rule banning schools from signing former pro players. Tony Clayton says the players who signed NFL contracts had no other choice at the time and are now being barred from the same fifth year the NCAA has given to every athlete moving forward.

The legislature is committing one-million dollars to address food insecurity on college campuses. Louisiana was one of the first states to establish a Hunger-Free Campus program. Higher Education Commissioner Kim Hunter Reed says House Appropriations Chairman Jack McFarland committed to increasing the funding after speaking with a college student who needs food assistance.
The reward for information leading to the conviction of the killer of a bald eagle in Vermilion Parish last December is now up to 20-thousand dollars. The biggest chunk comes from the Center of Biological Diversity, which is offering 13-thousand dollars. LDWF Corporal Stuart Guillory says others have chipped in.
