Two men have been arrested for making threats against the lives of two Louisiana lawmakers. In the first case, investigators say Bruce Tigani, Jr of Wilmington, Delaware, made several detailed threats against State Representative Michael Echols and his family on social media. Authorities say Tigani was upset over Echols criticism of Medical Properties Trust, the landowner of a West Monroe hospital. In the second case, investigators say Charles Allen of New Orleans left a voicemail explicitly threatening the life of State Senator John C. Jay and his family.

Covington based, Globalstar is being purchased by Amazon for 11.6 billion dollars. They are the primary satellite link for Apple’s iPhone emergency SOS features and Amazon plans to use Globalstar’s network to connect smartphone users to a network of thousands of satellites for voice and data service. President of Greater New Orleans Inc, Michael Hecht, says Globalstar relocated to the Northshore from California in 2010 and are now a Louisiana success story…

Governor Jeff Landry is working to drum up support for Constitutional Amendment Three. It would eliminate three education trust funds and use the money from the funds to pay down retirement debt and give public school teachers and support workers a permanent raise. In 2023, the Legislature provided teachers with a stipend of two-thousand dollars and school support workers with a one-thousand-dollar stipend and have paid for the stipends ever since, but Landry say passage of Amendment Three makes those temporary pay raises permanent…

The Louisiana Tech baseball team beat Little Rock for their seventh straight win Tuesday night. Two weeks ago, the Bulldogs had lost eight in a row. Now, they head into the weekend with a bigger target on their backs. Head coach Lane Burroughs says his team just needs to stay humble and hungry going into their three-game series at Kennesaw State.
