A federal grand jury indicts an Alexandria man in connection with the murder of a federal agent, and prosecutors say they will seek the death penalty. U.S. Attorney Zachary Keller announced the five-count indictment against 48-year-old Clarence Frazier Jr., starting with the most serious one.

Hanson and others were executing an arrest warrant on July 13th for missing a sexual assault trial when Frazier allegedly shot Hanson to death.

The Colorado State University Hurricane Forecast Team has issued its final forecast for the 2026 season, and Senior Research Scientist Phil Klotzbach says it’s unchanged from last month.

As the new school year gets underway, the superintendent of the East Baton Rouge school system is under indictment. Attorney General Liz Murrill indicted Lamont Cole on a total of seven counts on charges including bribery, money laundering and malfeasance in office.
