An escaped inmate in Madison Parish has been brought back into custody. 37-year-old Shannon Morris of Lake Charles escaped from a Riverbend Detention Center transport van while stopped at a travel stop in Tallulah. Louisiana State Police says Morris was captured this morning after reports of an individual trying to flag down motorists along I-20. The Madison Parish Sheriff’s Office says the investigation remains active and charges related to the escape are pending.
The school year has already arrived for many Louisiana students, and for Louisiana drivers, that means more big yellow buses on the roads. Dayne Huval (HUE-vahl), the president of the Driving School Association of Louisiana, says too many kids get hurt when people are in a rush and try to drive around school buses.

LSU returned to the practice field for fall camp today. Tiger-bait-dot-com’s Preston Guy says he expects the Tigers to compete for a spot in the college football playoff, and coach Lane Kiffin has built a good team – the only problem is, half of the teams on LSU’s schedule are ranked in the top 25 of the preseason coaches poll.
