A District Court Judge has issued a gag order in the case of the two city marshals arrested in Marksville, forbidding anyone remotely associated to the shooting incident and their lawyers from speaking to the media. Norris Greenhouse, Jr. and Derrick Stafford are each charged with second degree murder in the death of 6-year-old Jeremy Mardis.

Today, State Police honored the four people who helped Trooper Steven Vincent while he was critically wounded during a traffic stop in August. The city of Hammond says its police chief, Roddy Devall, has been removed from his position as the result of a pending disciplinary matter. A letter cited the reasons for the firing were over civil service violations in a dispute over how the police department handled an officer’s arrest.

The Associated Press is reporting that the lawyer for the man who was gunned down allegedly by Marksville City Marshals when his 6-year-old child was killed, had his hands up and posed no threat. The report indicates the lawyer says the body cam evidence shows it. Bond was set at one million dollars for both Derrick Stafford and Norris Greenhouse Jr. on changes of second degree murder and attempted second degree murder.

Governor Bobby Jindal once again fell short of making the main stage for Tuesday’s Republican presidential debate in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Jindal will join New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee and Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum in a one hour 2nd tier debate that will air at 6pm on the Fox Business Network. This is the fourth televised debate among Republican presidential hopefuls and the fourth time Jindal has failed to qualify for the main event.

Today, the US Senator is out with a new 30 second commercial that shows him sitting at a kitchen table saying to the camera, “15 years ago, I failed my family but found forgiveness and love.”

Authorities continue to investigate the case of the City Marshals in Marksville who are accused in the case of the shooting death of a 6-year-old boy and wounding of of his father. A bail hearing is reportedly underway at this hour for 32-year-old Derrick Stafford and 23-year-old Norris Greenhouse, who each face charges of second-degree murder and second-degree attempted murder. Little Jeremy Mardis is set to be laid to rest today in Mississippi, while his father, Chris Few remains hospitalized.
