State Police say a 2 year old is dead and other children sustained injuries after their father drunkenly flew through an intersection in Donaldsonville on Highway 70 and got t-boned. 27-year-old John Henderson of Baton Rouge, the driver, has been arrested as a result. State Police Spokesperson Sgt. Jaded Sandifer says neither of the adults put restraints on the 2-year-old who died.

The United Cajun Navy wraping up operations in the Carolinas after spending nearly a week saving people from treacherous flood waters. 23 deaths have been attributed to the storm so far. United Cajun Navy founder Todd Terrell says not everyone is coming home yet, as they hope to continue assisting areas with limited resources, while cleaning up the command center they built to coordinate rescues.

Billy Nungesser has returned to the Bayou State following a ten day trip to China as part of a Louisiana tourism mission in an attempt to lure more visitors from Asia.  The trip included a stop at the 12th annual China-US Tourism Leadership Summit. Nungesser says he believes the “Lights Camera Louisiana” film trail, which shows where many movies and TV shows were produced in the state, will be a huge draw for Chinese tourists.

The Saints are lucky to have a 1-1 record after a sloppy 21-18 win over the Cleveland Browns. New Orleans had a furious rally in the 4th quarter to snatch a victory from the jaws of defeat. A Marcus Williams interception set up the first of two touchdown passes by Drew Brees to Michael Thomas. Coach Sean Payton is not happy with the two fumbles from his team and the numerous mental mistakes…

Browns kicker Zane Gonzales missed four kicks in the contest and today he was cut by Cleveland.

The Saints will be in Atlanta on Sunday. The Falcons won their first game a 31-24 win over the Panthers. Tampa Bay is 2-0 after a 27-21 win over the Eagles.

LSU is up to number six in both national polls after a thrilling 22-21 win over Auburn. Coach Ed Orgeron on silencing the critics who didn’t think LSU would have a good season…

LSU hosts Louisiana Tech this Saturday. The Bulldogs are coming off a bye week and they are 2-0 on the season.

After beating Nicholls State, McNeese climbed seven spots to number nine in the STATS F-C-S poll. The Cowboys are off to a 3-0 start. Also, senior linebacker B-J Blunt was named the STATS National Defensive Player of the Week as well as Southland Defensive Player of the week as he recorded three sacks, four tackles for a loss and recovered a fumble.

Northwestern State Quarterback Shelton Eppler is the offensive player of the week. The junior threw for 474 yards and six touchdowns for the Demons.

That’s Todd Terrell, who says some members of their fleet are staying in the Carolinas as the flooding situation remains serious.

There are also over 100 Louisiana emergency personnel deployed to the Carolinas and they are assisting with rescues, clearing roadways and cooking for first responders.

Nungesser says Chinese visitors are interested in seeing the movies shot in Louisian and the Chennault Aviation and Military Musuem in Monroe, because of the relationship General Chennault had with the Chinese military during and after World War Two.

LSU has ended its relationship with wide receiver Drake Davis. Tiger Rag Magazine reports Davis has been kicked off the team after he was arrested a second time on battery charges against a female. Davis remains in jail as he was denied bond.

Many members of the United Cajun Navy are on their way back to Louisiana after assisting local authorities with water rescues in the Carolinas. Founder Todd Terrell says about 20-percent of their fleet remains in North Carolina, where waters continue to rise in some places because of Florence….

Terrell says many people of rescued were amazed that someone from Louisiana brought their own boats to help out.

A two-year-old child is dead from a fatal crash over the weekend in Donaldsonville and the 27-year-old man who is related to the child has been arrested on numerous charges including vehicular homicide. State Police Trooper Sergeant Jared Sandifer says neither of the adults in the vehicle put restraints on the three kids in the car…

27-year-old John Henderson of Baton Rouge is the one facing numerous charges.

In a narrow vote, the State Board of Medical Examiners voted to lift a cap that was established in 2016 that would allow physicians to have up to 100 medical marijuana patients. Only 48 doctors have applied to dispense the medical marijuana when it comes available later this year and the small number caused concerns the cap would hurt the program.

The LSU Tigers are ranked sixth in the country in both polls after a thrilling 22-21 win over the Auburn Tigers. Quarterback Joe Burrow’s 71-yard touchdown pass to Derrick Dillon started the fourth quarter rally….

Burrow was named SEC Offensive Player of the Week today. He threw for 249 yards and a touchdown. LSU hosts Louisiana Tech on Saturday.

McNeese State is also off to a 3-0 start after a solid 20-10 win over Nicholls State on Saturday. The Cowboys defense was impressive led by linebacker B-J Blunt who had three sacks and a fumble recovery. The Cowboys will visit 25th ranked BYU this Saturday.

After losing to SEC west opponents last Saturday, ULM and UL Lafayette begin Sun Belt play this Saturday. The Cajuns host Coastal Carolina, while the Warhawks take on Troy in Monroe.

The Saints were nearly upset for the second straight week on Sunday, but made enough plays in the fourth quarter and benefited from Zane Gonzales’ four missed field goals to squeak out a 21-18 win over the hapless Cleveland Browns. Coach Sean Payton not happy with the two fumbles and numerous mental mistakes. He says the team will not become magically better, they’ll have to put the work in….

The Louisiana Urban Search and Rescue teams are conducting water rescues this morning in Chesterfield Country, South Carolina, where water has gotten into homes and trapped families from escaping on their own.  Louisiana Fire Marshal Spokesperson Ashley Rodrigue says South Carolina helped out Louisiana during hurricanes and flooding and this is just a way to pay that favor back.

Thanks to four missed kicks by Cleveland’s Zane Gonzales the Saints were able to rally to beat the Cleveland Browns 21-18. New Orleans trailed 12-3 in the 4th quarter, but Quarterback Drew Brees finally got it going with two touchdown passes to Michael Thomas. Will Lutz’s 44-yard field goal with 21-seconds left was the game winner. But Coach Sean Payton is not happy with how his team is playing
