The fifteenth ranked LSU Tigers are set to host the Georgia State Panthers on Saturday. Georgia State Head Coach Shawn Elliot is excited to travel to Baton Rouge and take in the iconic scene that is Death Valley on a Saturday night, but he is not looking forward to taking on an LSU offense that is averaging 560 yards per game.

The Pelicans beat the Mavericks last night in the Smoothie King Center 131 to 110. After losing the first game with Dallas, New Orleans was able to get revenge thanks to a strong performance by the Pelicans led by small forward Brandon Ingram. Brandon Ingram recorded 25 points, 9 rebounds, and 7 assists. In other New Orleans news, the Saints signed veteran defensive lineman Jason Pierre-Paul to their practice squad, who last season recorded 3 sacks for the Ravens.

ULM will travel to Oxford in order to take on the 13th ranked Ole Miss and hopefully snap their 8 game losing streak. ULM is currently 2 and 8 on the year and has had a losing record in each of the last three seasons, but Head Coach Terry Bowden still has faith that he can turn the Warhawks around …

18-year-old LA Tech Freshman Colin Campbell is being praised for helping two of the stabbing victims. He drove them in his truck to the hospital and police say his quick action most likely saved Cynthia Woodward’s life. The Minden High School graduate drove Woodard and Annie Richardson to the hospital.

The school is holding a blood drive tomorrow from 9 to 3 at the student center.

A Ruston Artist had died as a result of injuries at the hand of a 23 year old Louisiana Tech student Monday. Police say in what appears to be an random act of violence, Jacoby Johnson attacked 4 people as they were leaving the Lambright Sports and Wellness Center where prior to the attacks, Johnson brandished a knife at a student playing basketball. Among the injured is retired Third District Judge, Cynthia Woodard who was leaving an exercise class when she was attacked. She is reportedly being treated for her injuries and is in critical but stable condition. Many are shocked that the attacks took place at Lambright which serves all ages from seniors to students from elementary through college.

Louisiana Senator Bill Cassidy is a co-author of the legislation and he says 545 million dollars in funding has already been awarded to Louisiana for ports and waterways to repair infrastructure and strengthen supply chains. Another 368-million dollars has been awarded for infrastructure and coastal resiliency. Cassidy says Louisiana is better off now than it was two years ago because of the infrastructure law…

Defensive specialist Herb Jones returned after a three-game absence and held Luka Donic to 16 points on five of 16 shooting. Brandon Ingram had 25 points for the Pels and rookie Jordan Hawkins also had 25 points as he finished with five three-pointers.

Mikaylah Williams from Bossier City scored 42 points, a record for an LSU freshman, as the seventh ranked LSU Lady Tigers defeated Kent State 109 to 79 in the PMAC yesterday. Williams was 15 of 20 from the field and hit five three-pointers. She credits her practice habits
