A federal judge has ruled that details will remain seal in the federal criminal case against Danial Callihan, the man who has confesses to killing Callie Brunette and her three-year-old daughter. A federal bond hearing will be held June 25th. Calihan is also facing state charges in Mississippi and Louisiana in Tangipahoa Parish. Victoria Cox is also charged in the case.

Campbell says the average customer would receive a credit 62-dollars divided over their July, August and September bills. The refunds will be substantial for large businesses.

LSU Baseball has received a verbal pledge from former Auburn outfielder Chris Stanfield who entered the transfer portal after two seasons at Auburn. This past season on the Plains, Stanfield hit .276 with four home runs and 25 RBIs and he stole nine bases.

California high school outfielder Derek Curiel has announced he’s withdrawn from the 2024 MLB Draft and he’ll enroll at LSU this summer. Curiel is considered a plus-hitter from the left-side who has good speed and can play the field well. Curiel will be a draft eligible sophomore.

Former LSU pitcher Paul Skenes is now 4-0 after allowing one run in six innings in the Pirates four to one win over the Reds on Monday. Skenes struck out seven.

And the Washington Nationals have promoted Dylan Crews to Triple-A. The former LSU star was hitting .274 with 5 home runs and 38 RBIs at Harrisburg.

Former LSU football coach Les Miles is suing the university over vacating 37 of the coach’s wins preventing him from eligibility for College Football Hall of Fame Consideration.

Justin Schmidt, who represented Anne Breaud in court, says the case sparks a bigger question concerning Breaud’s privacy.

The congressional district map approved last month creates two new majority-Black districts by redrawing some districts, including stretching district 6 from Caddo to East Baton Rouge Parish. Graves says that’s unfair to those he represents.

Graves says he doesn’t think any representative will be able to fairly represent the needs of all the different areas in the new district 6. In fact, Graves says he plans to take a break from politics altogether.

Representative Garret Graves of Baton Rouge announced Friday that he wouldn’t seek reelection in the Sixth District saying he doesn’t think any representative will be able to fairly represent the needs of all the different areas in the new district 6. He spoke today and says he plans to take a break from politics altogether.

A federal case brought on behalf of a group of prisoners at Angola is being heard in Baton Rouge today. A New Orleans-based advocacy group along with a group of incarcerated men at Angola asking Judge Brian Jackson to grant an injunction barring the Louisiana State Penitentiary from outdoor farm operations performed by prisoners when the heat index reaches 88 degrees or higher. Angola is among several prisons whose inmates provide products used in many popular American food items.
