The Tigers are preparing to face 14th ranked Texas A-and-M, who has one of the best rushing attack in the country.

Saints Coach Dennis Allen says if Derek Carr is not ready to play this Sunday against the Chargers, rookie Spencer Rattler will make his third consecutive start. Allen is hopeful Taysom Hill can return from fractured ribs and there’s a chance interior offensive linemen Lucas Patrick and Cesar Ruiz will return this weekend. The Chargers lost last night to the Cardinals 17 to 15.

Louisiana Tech hosts a football game tonight as the Bulldogs will battle UTEP at 7 PM at Joe Aillet Stadium. Tech enters the game with a 2-4 record, 1-and-2 in Conference USA. Senior defensive lineman Mykol Clark says they are hungry for a win after a bad loss last week at New Mexico State…

The Pelicans have signed shooting guard Trey Murphy to a four-year, 112-million dollar contract extension. Coach Willie Green says it was a goal to get Murphy signed before the start of the season…

The eighth ranked LSU Tigers were big winners on Saturday night beating Arkansas 34 to 10. LSU started fast in Fayetteville with a touchdown on its opening drive. When Arkansas got back into the game, Tigers linebacker Whit Weeks had a huge interception to set up a Caden Durham touchdown. LSU finished the scoring with a 14-play, 80 yard drive late in the fourth quarter. Coach Brian Kelly says the Tigers played well from start to finish…

LSU will need to play well again this Saturday as the Tigers go back on the road this Saturday to face 14th ranked Texas A-and-M.

Louisiana Tech will host UTEP tomorrow night. The Miners are 1-and-6 and that victory came last Wednesday against FIU.

Saints Coach Dennis Allen said today that it’s still too early to know if quarterback Derek Carr will be healthy enough to play in this Sunday’s game against the Chargers. He’s hopeful Taysom Hill will be back from fractured ribs, while receiver Chris Olave remains in concussion protocol. Former Bills, Chiefs and Packers receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling worked out for the team today.

Southeastern Louisiana receiver Darius Lewis has been named Southland offensive player of the week as he caught the winning touchdown pass in the Lions heart stopping win over Stephen F Austin. Nicholls linebacker Jake Dalmado has been named the Southland Defensive player of the week as he had three sacks in the Colonels shutout win over Northwestern State.

The Pelicans have reportedly signed forward Trey Murphy to a four-year, 112-million dollar contract extension. The former first round pick averaged a career high 15 points last year. He has a hamstring injury, so he will not be on the floor when New Orleans tips off the season on Wednesday against the Bulls.

Longtime LSU football staffer Charles Baglio died on Friday night when he was struck by a car on U-S Highway 51 in Tangipahoa Parish. Baglio was just involved in a wreck himself and was checking on another vehicle when he was struck and killed. Baglio was also a successful high school football coach at Independence. Former Independence Coach Keith Carona says Baglio made high school sports fun…

Southeastern Louisiana has the best record in the Southland Conference as the Lions improved to 3-and-0 in league play with a dramatic 24 to 23 win over Stephen F Austin. Eli Sawyer threw a game winning touchdown pass with two seconds left.
The Ragin Cajuns racked up a season-high 516 yards of total offense as U-L Lafayette defeated Coastal Carolina 34-24. Quarterback Ben Woolridge threw for a career-high 373 yards and accounted for four touchdowns in the big win on the road…

Just a brutal game for the Saints last night as Denver dominated New Orleans 33 to 10 in the Super Dome. Saints quarterback Spencer Rattler was sacked six times, just ten yards rushing for Alvin Kamara and the defense allowed 225 rushing yards. Coach Dennis Allen’s team now has a five-game losing streak…

The injuries continue to mount for New Orleans. Starting cornerbacks Marshon Lattimore and Paulson Adebo left the game. Adebo was taken off the field on a cart as he broke his femur.

Former Northwestern State star David Fry broke the hearts of Yankee fans with his two-run homer in the tenth inning last night giving the Cleveland Guardians a seven to five win against the Bronx Bombers. New York leads the American League Championship series two games to one.

Arkansas quarterback Taylen Green is expected to play tomorrow night against eighth ranked LSU. Green injured his knee against Tennessee two weeks, but he’s not on the official injury report. Yahoo sports college football reporter Caroline Fenton says Green will play, but how healthy is he…

It was a triumphant return to the Superdome for Coach Sean Payton as his Broncos manhandled the Saints 33 to 10 last night. Payton coached in New Orleans for 15 years. This is his second year in Denver and his team improved to 4-and-3…

It was a night to forget for Saints fans as the injuries continued to pile up. Paulson Adebo broke his femur and Marshon Lattimore injured his hamstring.

What a night for former Northwestern State star David Fry. His two run homer in the tenth inning completed a miraculous comeback for Cleveland as they defeated the Yankees seven to five in Game Three of the American League Championship Series. The Guardians tied the game with a two-run homer with two outs in the ninth inning.

LSU heads to Arkansas today to play the Razorbacks in the annual Battle for the Boot. The winner of the game gets to possess a 200-pound trophy molded to resemble the states of Louisiana and Arkansas. Running back Josh Williams says it’s important for LSU to keep the Golden Boot

Emotions will be high in the Superdome tonight for Sean Payton’s return to New Orleans. Payton has led the Broncos to a 3-and-3 record, while the Saints are on a four-game losing streak and will play tonight’s game without their two top receivers, Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed, who needs knee surgery. Taysom Hill is also doubtful. Kick off is at 7:15.

Bradyn Swinson is having a breakout season for the eighth-ranked LSU Tigers. Last Saturday, the senior defensive end had a career-high eight tackles and two sacks and was named SEC defensive lineman of the week. The Georgia native credits good practice habits….

Coach Brian Kelly said receiver CJ Daniels has looked good at practice and is on track to play on Saturday against Arkansas. He missed the Ole Miss game with a knee injury. Chris Hilton remains day-to-day with a stress fracture.

The Ragin Cajuns take their five and one record on the road this weekend as U-L Lafayette visits Coastal Carolina, who is 4-and-2. Coach Michael Desormeaux says at the halfway point of the regular season, there’s still room for improvement…

In last week’s win over Appalachian State, the Cajuns failed to convert on third down and one.

Emotional overtime win for the Tigers last Saturday night over the Ole Miss Rebels. Now the Bayou Bengals will hit the road for the next two games, starting with this Saturday’s matchup against Arkansas. Defensive end Bradyn Swinson says the team took time to celebrate the Ole Miss win; but now, the focus is on the Razorbacks.

Should be an emotional night in the Superdome tonight as Sean Payton makes his return as his Denver Broncos battle the New Orleans Saints. Payton was the head coach of the Saints for 15 years, guiding the team to its lone Super Bowl victory to cap off the 2009 season. Saints analyst Mike Detillier of WWL Radio says Payton arrived following Hurricane Katrina, but he quickly got the right players around him…

Brees will be inducted into the Saints Hall of Fame tonight. Don’t expect much offense from New Orleans, as the team’s top two receivers, Chris Olave and Rashied Shaheed are injured. Shaheed needs surgery on his knee, which will likely put him on injured reserve. Kick off is at 7:15.

The Pelicans have launched their streaming service….It will cost 14.99 a month or 100-bucks for the season to stream Pelican games and other team content.

LSU’s defense is improved over last season as evident by the team’s performance in last Saturday’s overtime win over Ole Miss. The Tigers “D” kept the Rebels out of the end zone in the second half and in O-T. Defensive End Bradyn Swinson says they are not satisfied, because they still have more tough opponents coming up…

Bulldog fans that stayed up late to watch Louisiana Tech last night went to bed disappointed as New Mexico State defeated the Bulldogs 33 to 30 in overtime. Tech could have won in regulation, but a 27-yard field goal with three seconds left was blocked. The victory snapped a five-game losing streak for the Aggies and La Tech Coach Sonny Cumbie came away disappointed…

The Broncos arrived in New Orleans today as they will face the Saints tomorrow night. It will be interesting to see the reaction Sean Payton will get as he makes his return to the Dome. He led the Saints to their only Super Bowl, but the 2006 team, Payton’s first in New Orleans will also never be forgotten…
