A win for Southeastern Louisiana could land them an at-large berth in the F-C-S playoffs.

LSU Police are looking for whoever stole approximately 40 championship rings from former gymnastics coach D-D Breaux’s on campus office. Breaux retired as coach in 2020 and still works for the university in an ambassador role. Breaux says whoever stole the rings was apparently only after the rings and nothing else.

Breaux says they were probably taken during the day of the Alabama game as the athletic administration building is very busy on gameday.

The LSU men’s basketball team defeated Charleston Southern 77 to 68 last night to improve to 4-and-0. The Tigers will take on Pitt on Friday afternoon in a tournament in West Virginia.

The Ragin Cajuns men’s hoops team is headed to the Virgin Islands to play Liberty. U-L Lafayette lost last night to Rice 83 to 61.

The Pelicans visit the 15-and-1 Cavaliers. New Orleans is 4 and 11 and decimated by injuries. They signed former Cajun Elfrid Payton today to help their depleted backcourt.

Saints tight end Taysom Hill has been named the NFC’s offensive player of the week after scoring three touchdowns against the Cleveland Browns.

The Louisiana Tech football team is fresh off an upset win over Western Kentucky and this Saturday they are at Arkansas. The Razorbacks are led by quarterback Taylen Green. Bulldogs Head Coach Sonny Cumbie says containing the athletic signal caller will be top priority…

The Ragin Cajuns went seven plus minutes without a field goal in the second half las tnight and lost to Rice 83 to 61 at the Cajundome. It’s the second straight blowout loss for U-L Lafayette and Coach Bob Marlin’s team drops to one and three on the season…

When LSU hired Brian Kelly as head coach in 2021, SEC Network’s Paul Finebaum called Kelly an elite coach. Kelly led the Tigers to back-to-back 10-win seasons his first two years but this season the Tigers have fallen short of playoff expectations. Finebaum says Kelly was the right hire despite recent struggles…

Former LSU star Paul Skenes capped off a historic season last night as he was named National League Rookie of the Year. Skenes posted an 11-and-3 record with a 1.96 ERA and 170 strikeouts in 23 games. Skenes told MLB Network what it took to win the award…

The injury riddled Pelicans visit Dallas tonight in their second NBA Cup matchup. The 4-and-10 Pels are still missing six key contributors but will hope to replicate their upset over the Nuggets in their first Cup game last Friday. Tip-off is at 7:30.

At 6-and-4, the Tigers have failed to live up to expectations for the third year under Head Coach Brian Kelly. The University High football team’s season ended days before the Cubs were set to appear in their first playoff game. District Court ruled in favor of the LHSAA yesterday which ruled two of the team’s Liberty High transfers were ineligible and ordered U-high to forfeit seven of its wins. The two-seeded Cubs had a first-round bye and their opponent Booker T. Washington will advance to the Division II select quarterfinals.

Former LSU pitcher Paul Skenes was named National League Rookie of the Year last night. The Pirates first overall pick finished the season with an 11-and-3 record, 1.96 ERA, and 170 strikeouts. Skenes was also named an All-Star starter this season, earned an ALL-MLB selection, and is a finalist for the National League Cy Young Award.

Rizzi says Scantling, who has over 200 yards and three touchdowns, has been invaluable since starting his first game three weeks ago…

Southeastern edged out ULM for a 70 to 67 victory in Monroe.
And Louisiana Tech dominated Mississippi College 105 to 67.

Last night, the McNeese men’s team rallied back from a seven-point deficit in the second half to beat North Texas 68 to 61. Sincere Parker scored 12 of his game-high 18 points in the final 5:44.

Southeastern Louisiana held on to beat ULM 70 to 67. Louisiana Tech clobbered Mississippi College 105 to 67 as Daniel Batcho scored a career-high 38 points.

After losing seven in a row, the Saints now have a two-game winning streak under interim coach Darren Rizzi as New Orleans defeated the Cleveland Browns 35 to 14. Taysom Hill had a huge game with 230 all-purpose yards, 138 rushing, 50 receiving and 18 passing…and scored three touchdowns, tying a career-high. It was also the first time since Ed Podolak (POE-do-lack) of the Kansas City Chiefs in 1971 that a player had three rushing touchdowns, 50 yards receiving and at least one passing completion. Hill said he’s honored to be mentioned in such elite company.

The Saints are now 4-and-7, have a bye this weekend, and host the Rams on December 1st.

Joe Burrow threw for 356 yards and three touchdowns but the Bengals lost last night to the Chargers 34 to 27.

The Saints make it two in a row under interim coach Darren Rizzi as they beat the Cleveland Browns at the Superdome, 35-14. After the game, Rizzi said his team played a complete game.

The LSU Tigers dropped their third straight game on Saturday losing to the Florida Gators 27 to 16. LSU won nearly every statistical category in the box score, but the Tigers only scored one touchdown and continued to give up big plays on defense. Coach Brian Kelly.

La Tech kept its bowl chances alive by upsetting Western Kentucky 12 to 7. Bulldogs Coach Sonny Cumbie’s defense shut down one of the best offenses in Conference USA…

The Bulldogs are at Arkansas this Saturday.

U-L Lafayette had a chance to clinch the Sun Belt West Title but was upset by South Alabama 24 to 22. The Jaguars own the tiebreaker if the two teams end up in a tie for first place in the West. The Cajuns host Troy this Saturday, while South Al visits Southern Miss.

 

Southern has won the SWAC Western Division title, while in the Southland, Southeastern Louisiana still has a shot at sharing the league title with U-I-W. But the Lions will need to beat Nicholls on Thursday in the River Bell Classic. The Colonels have lost three in a row after falling to Lamar 24 to 7.

In other college football action this Saturday, Louisiana Tech is at Western Kentucky. The Hilltoppers are undefeated in Conference USA Play. Tulane visits Navy in a battle featuring two of the best teams in American Athletic Conference. ULM travels to Auburn. Grambling is at Alabama and A-and-M, Southern can win a SWAC west title with a win over Arkansas Pine Bluff.

And in the Southland…McNeese visits winless Northwestern State, Nicholls travels to Lamar. The Colonels have lost two in a row.

Saints starting center Erik McCoy is expected to return Sunday after missing seven games with a groin injury. McCoy says he will go up against a very good Cleveland Browns defensive line…
