State Police released its report today that shows why they charged former LSU receiver Kyran Lacy’s with negligent homicide, felony hit and run and reckless operation of a vehicle for his alleged role in a head on crash that killed a 78-year-old man in Lafourche Parish last December.

Lacy’s car did not make physical contact with the two vehicles that collided, but witness said a Green Dodge Charger, that turned out to be driven by Lacy, forced the head on crash…

State Police says that their investigative findings were reviewed in consultation with the Lafourche Parish District Attorney’s Office to determine the appropriate charges, and the 17th Judicial District Court approved the arrest warrant for Lacy.

Two days before Lacy’s case was set to go before a grand jury, he took his own life.

New Orleans hosts New England on Sunday.

We will find out on Saturday if, during the bye week, the LSU Tigers fixed what was ailing their offense.  LSU’s rush attack ranks 117th out of 134 teams, averaging about 105 yards on the ground a game. The Tigers rushed for only 57 yards against Ole Miss, who had one of the worst rush defenses in the nation going into the game. Coach Brian Kelly says the offense cannot be one-dimensional and has to be able to run the ball.

Northwestern State was also on the wrong end of a blowout as the Demons lost to East Texas A-and-M 40 to 10.

The Saints are finally in the win column for the 2025 season as New Orleans rallied from an 11-point deficit in the second quarter to beat the New York Giants 26-14. The Saints forced five turnovers and quarterback Spencer Rattler threw for 225 yards and one touchdown. That one touchdown went for 87 yards to Rashid Shaheed. Rattler lost his first ten games as a starter in the NFL…

Jayden Daniels returned from a knee injury that forced him to miss two games to throw for 231 yards and a touchdown as the Commanders struck down the Chargers 27-10.

The LSU Tigers get back to work today as they will host South Carolina at 6:45 on Saturday night. LSU has also moved up to 11^th in the latest AP Top 25 poll. Texas and Penn State fell out of the Top 25.

The Lions are 4-and-2 on the season, while the Cowboys have lost five in a row, both teams are off this Saturday.

Quarterback Jaxson Dart was drafted 25^th overall by the New York Giants in this year’s NFL Draft. Even though the Saints were in the market for a quarterback, they passed on the electric playmaker from Ole Miss. Dart says that he’s going into Sunday’s game against the Saints with an extra chip on his shoulder.

Former LSU star and Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels plans to play this Sunday against the Chargers. Daniels missed the last two games with a sprained left knee. Washington is 2-and-2 on the season, while the Chargers are 3-and-1. Kick off is at 3:25 on Sunday and it will be the main game on Fox.

ULM plays its final nonconference game of the season on Saturday when they visit Northwestern. Coach Bryant Vincent’s team is a 10.5 point underdog…

A new Superdome lease agreement has been signed between the Saints and the State of Louisiana. The ten-year extension keeps the Black and Gold in New Orleans through the 2035 season, and the Saints will have the option to renew every five years through 2055. Owner Gayle Benson says the deal is an example of the special partnership between the state and the NFL franchise.

Southeastern Louisiana travels across the state to take on McNeese. The Lions won their Southland opener last Saturday at home against UTRGV. McNeese lost to Stephen F Austin last Saturday and have dropped four in a row. Cowboys Coach Matt Viator wants his team to be frustrated, but still respond positively….

The top ranked team in Class 3A, Jewel Sumner defeated Franklinton 21-14 in overtime, St. Frederick defeated St. Mary’s 34-17, John Curtis held on to beat Warren Easton 33-29 and Evangel crushed Huntington 62-14.

The Saints are 0-and-4, but they have a great opportunity to get in the win column as they host the New York Giants Sunday. Head coach Kellen Moore says that second-year quarterback Spencer Rattler is not going to be perfect every play, but he’s given the Saints numerous chances to win games.

Tonight marks the beginning of week five of the high school football season. The top-ranked team in Class 3A, Jewell Sumner, faces Franklinton in the LHSAA Network Game of the Week, which can be seen on their app and YouTube channel.

Today, the Saints and the state are expected to announce a new long-term lease agreement of the Ceasars Superdome.

LSU football coach Brian Kelly said backup quarterback Michael Van Buren is getting all of the snaps this week with the first team offense as the Tigers used the bye week to give starter Garrett Nussmeier a chance to rest an ab strain. Kelly also said its false that Nussmeier needs surgery. The coach expects Nussmeier will be ready for the South Carolina Gamecocks on October 11^th.

The Saints will face rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart Sunday. Dart made his first start last week against the Chargers and lifted the Giants to a 21-18 win. Coach Kellen Moore says Dart has an excellent skill set.

New Orleans will host the College Football Playoff championship in 2028 and the Big Easy will also host a C-F-P quarterfinal game. The city also hosted both games in the same year in 2020. Jeff Hundley, the chief executive officer of the Allstate Sugar Bowl, says this will be a huge economic impact for the city.

Colonels Coach Tommy Rybacki says he is making sure his team knows everything they want to accomplish is still in front of them.

At a press conference this morning, it was officially announced that New Orleans will host the College Football Playoff Championship game for the 2027 season on January 24, 2028.

The NCAA is close to approving a single transfer window for football. The transfer portal window would open January 2^nd and stay open through the 16^th.

The LSU offense has been a major issue through the first five games of the season. The Tigers only put up 254 yards of total offense against Ole Miss. Former LSU quarterback Rohan Davey says that no one on the offensive side of the ball is on the same page, which is making it difficult to be effective.

The Saints return to the practice field today looking for win number one against the New York Giants. Rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart will make his first start on the road.
