The undefeated LSU men’s basketball team hosts Charleston Southern tonight. After last week’s upset victory over Kansas State, Matt McMahon’s Tigers are heavy favorites against the 1-and-4 Buccaneers. Tip-off is at 7:00

The injury riddled Pelicans visit Dallas tonight in their second NBA Cup matchup. The 4-and-10 Pels are still missing six key contributors but will hope to replicate their upset over the Nuggets in their first Cup game last Friday. Tip-off is at 7:30.

The LSU football team will be playing for pride and bowl position over the last two weeks of the season. At 6-and-4, the Tigers have failed to live up to expectations for the third year under Head Coach Brian Kelly. Kelly says his team is better than the record shows, but close losses have defined the season…

The Tigers will host Vanderbilt Saturday.

The University High football team’s season ended days before the Cubs were set to appear in their first playoff game. District Court ruled in favor of the LHSAA yesterday which ruled two of the team’s Liberty High transfers were ineligible and ordered U-high to forfeit seven of its wins. The two-seeded Cubs had a first-round bye and their opponent Booker T. Washington will advance to the Division II select quarterfinals.

The LSU football team dashed their college football playoff hopes with their third straight loss this weekend. After the loss, Head Coach Brian Kelly took blame for needing to be more involved in play calling. With new helmet communication this season, he says eliminating confusion is key…

After losing seven straight, the Saints have won back-to-back games with Interim Head Coach Darren Rizzi. With injuries to offensive weapons, production has come from unlikely sources like hybrid tight end Taysom Hill and veteran wideout Marquez Valdes-Scantling. Rizzi says Scantling, who has over 200 yards and three touchdowns, has been invaluable since starting his first game three weeks ago…

The seventh-ranked LSU women’s basketball team improved to 5-and-0 last night with a 98 to 59 win over Troy.

The McNeese men’s team rallied late to beat undefeated North Texas 68 to 61.
Southeastern edged out ULM for a 70 to 67 victory in Monroe.
And Louisiana Tech dominated Mississippi College 105 to 67.

The seventh ranked LSU women’s basketball team improved to 5-and-0 last night with a 98 to 59 win over Troy. The Lady Tigers had a slow start but went to a full court press and that sparked a 16 to nothing run and a 34-point halftime lead. Aneesah Morrow had 23 points and 13 rebounds…

The Lady Tigers will host Tulane tomorrow night.

Last night, the McNeese men’s team rallied back from a seven-point deficit in the second half to beat North Texas 68 to 61. Sincere Parker scored 12 of his game-high 18 points in the final 5:44.

Southeastern Louisiana held on to beat ULM 70 to 67. Louisiana Tech clobbered Mississippi College 105 to 67 as Daniel Batcho scored a career-high 38 points.

At 4-and-6 LA Tech’s bowl hopes are still alive, but they’ll have a tough challenge at Arkansas this weekend.

In men’s basketball McNeese will host undefeated North Texas at 6:00 tonight.

And Southeastern will visit UL Monroe at 6:30.

After losing seven in a row, the Saints now have a two-game winning streak under interim coach Darren Rizzi as New Orleans defeated the Cleveland Browns 35 to 14. Taysom Hill had a huge game with 230 all-purpose yards, 138 rushing, 50 receiving and 18 passing…and scored three touchdowns, tying a career-high. It was also the first time since Ed Podolak (POE-do-lack) of the Kansas City Chiefs in 1971 that a player had three rushing touchdowns, 50 yards receiving and at least one passing completion. Hill said he’s honored to be mentioned in such elite company.

The Saints are now 4-and-7, have a bye this weekend, and host the Rams on December 1st.

Joe Burrow threw for 356 yards and three touchdowns but the Bengals lost last night to the Chargers 34 to 27.

LSU has its first three-game losing streak since 2021 after losing to Florida 27 to 16. The Tigers no longer have a shot at playing for an SEC Championship or winning ten games this season. But Coach Brian Kelly still wants to end the season on a right note…

The Saints make it two in a row under interim coach Darren Rizzi as they beat the Cleveland Browns at the Superdome, 35-14. After the game, Rizzi said his team played a complete game.

Huge game for Taysom Hill as he had three rushing touchdowns, including a 75-yarder.

The LSU Tigers dropped their third straight game on Saturday losing to the Florida Gators 27 to 16. LSU won nearly every statistical category in the box score, but the Tigers only scored one touchdown and continued to give up big plays on defense. Coach Brian Kelly.

La Tech kept its bowl chances alive by upsetting Western Kentucky 12 to 7. Bulldogs Coach Sonny Cumbie’s defense shut down one of the best offenses in Conference USA…

The Bulldogs are at Arkansas this Saturday.

U-L Lafayette had a chance to clinch the Sun Belt West Title but was upset by South Alabama 24 to 22. The Jaguars own the tiebreaker if the two teams end up in a tie for first place in the West. The Cajuns host Troy this Saturday, while South Al visits Southern Miss.

 

Southern has won the SWAC Western Division title, while in the Southland, Southeastern Louisiana still has a shot at sharing the league title with U-I-W. But the Lions will need to beat Nicholls on Thursday in the River Bell Classic. The Colonels have lost three in a row after falling to Lamar 24 to 7.

In other college football action this Saturday, Louisiana Tech is at Western Kentucky. The Hilltoppers are undefeated in Conference USA Play. Tulane visits Navy in a battle featuring two of the best teams in American Athletic Conference. ULM travels to Auburn. Grambling is at Alabama and A-and-M, Southern can win a SWAC west title with a win over Arkansas Pine Bluff.

And in the Southland…McNeese visits winless Northwestern State, Nicholls travels to Lamar. The Colonels have lost two in a row.

Saints starting center Erik McCoy is expected to return Sunday after missing seven games with a groin injury. McCoy says he will go up against a very good Cleveland Browns defensive line…

Best time of the year is underway in high school sports, as the football playoffs got underway last night with Evangel, Opelousas and Lake Charles College prep advancing.

Today’s top games include West Monroe at Parkway, Sam Houston visiting Zachary, Brother Martin hosting John Curtis and Buckeye will look for its first ever playoff win as they host Booker T Washington out of tNew Orleans.

The Ragin Cajuns can win a Sun Belt Conference Western Division championship tomorrow with a win over South Alabama. It would be U-L Lafayette’s fifth division title in seven years. The Cajuns were picked to finish third in the West, but Coach Michael Desormeaux says they expected to play in the Sun Belt Championship game…

Coach Brian Kelly says Garrett Nussmeier has been locked in this week and he’s expecting his starting QB will have a good game.

Not a great game for Jayden Daniels last night as he threw for 191 yards, one touchdown pass and one interception as the Commanders lost to the Eagles in 26-18 in a battle for first place in the NFC East.

The LSU men’s basketball team got a nice win on the road last night beating Kansas State 76-65. Cam Carter had 20 points against his former school to lead the way.

Cleveland enters the game with a 2 and 7 record, while the Saints are three and seven.

LSU starting left guard Garrett Dellinger has been ruled out for Saturday’s game at Florida. It will be the second straight game Dellinger has missed since suffering an ankle injury against Texas A-and-M. Florida quarterback D-J Lagway and running back Montrell Johnson, a New Orleans native are questionable. Kick-off Saturday is at 2:30.

It’s been a disappointing season for Louisiana Tech, but linebacker Kolbe Fields has been a bright spot. The transfer from LSU leads the team in tackles, tackles for a loss and forced fumbles. Bulldogs coach Sonny Cumbie says the former Rummel start is exactly the type of player they expected to get…

The Bulldogs will face Western Kentucky on Saturday at 11 AM. The Hilltoppers are 5-and-0 and they have one of the top quarterbacks in the league.

Louisiana Tech men’s basketball improved to 3-and-0 yesterday as the Bulldogs defeated UMass 76 to 66. Sean Newman Junior had a season-high 14 points and career-high 12 assists.
