This Saturday the Tigers will host Oklahoma in the regular season finale. The Sooners defense intercepted Jalen Milroe three times to upset Alabama 24-3

The LSU men’s basketball team needed three overtimes yesterday to defeat U-C-F 107 to 102. Jordan Sears had 25 points and Jalen Reed scored 21 points.

The Pelicans are at Indiana tonight. New Orleans is optimistic guard C-J McCollum will return after missing the last 13 games with a right adductor strain. Dejounte Murray is also close to coming back after breaking his left hand in the season opener.

The Ragin Cajuns are one win away from a Sun Belt Western division championship with a 51 to 30 win over Troy on Saturday. Coach Mike Desormeaux’s team is now 9-and-2 overall and 6-and-1 in league play…

U-L Lafayette can lock up a Sun Belt West Championship with a win over in-state rival ULM on Saturday at 11 AM. The Warhawks have lost five in a row and they are searching for one more win to become bowl eligible.

Gary Goff didn’t win enough at McNeese and after three seasons he was fired today. The Cowboys went six and six this season after failing to win a game on the field last year.

And Southeastern Louisiana did not make the F-C-S playoffs, despite finishing in second place in the Southland.

The LSU football team snapped its three-game losing streak on Saturday night with 24-17 victory over Vanderbilt. In the week leading up to the game, Josh Williams, Greg Penn, Will Campbell and Garrett Nussmeier called a players-only meeting. Williams discussed the nature of the meeting after the game.

Williams had his best game of the season, rushing for 90 yards and two touchdowns. He also had 61 receiving yards.

In other college football action on Saturday, Louisiana Tech will not be heading to a bowl game again this season after the Bulldogs lost to the Arkansas 35-14.

McNeese missed out on a winning season as Lamar scored on a touchdown pass on the final play of the game, resulting in a 6-and-6 record for the Cowboys.

Northwestern State finished a winless season with a loss to Houston Christian.

ULM’s losing streak is now up to five after losing to Arkansas State 28 to 21. The Warhawks have one more chance to reach bowl eligibility and they will need to beat the Cajuns this Saturday. ULM Coach Bryant Vincent…

Kick-off against the Cajuns is at 11 AM. A win for U-L Lafayette and they’ll clinch the Sun Belt West Title and would play either Marshall or James Madison in the Sun Belt title game.

In the NFL yesterday, Dallas ended its five-game losing streak with a wild win over Washington 34 to 26. Commanders quarterback Jaydyn Daniels threw an 86-yard touchdown pass with 21 seconds left, but Washington missed the extra point to tie the game.

The LSU men’s basketball team won in triple overtime yesterday beating U-C-F 107 to 102. The Tigers trailed by 20 points in the first half.

It’s been a rough month for the LSU football program and it got worse yesterday as the nation’s top recruit for next season, quarterback Bryce Underwood, decommitted from the Tigers and will instead play for the Wolverines. Executive Editor of Tiger Rag Todd Horne says Underwood’s move came down to just one thing – money.

On the field, the Tigers will look to snap a three-game losing streak when they host a Vanderbilt team that’s having its best season in years. The Commodores are 6-and-4 overall, 3-and-3 in the SEC.

The Ragin Cajuns host Troy tomorrow afternoon. Chandler Fields will start at quarterback for the injured Ben Woolridge. McNeese Coach Gary Goff is not saying who will start at quarterback when the Cowboys host Lamar tomorrow night.

LSU could be without both of its starting guards as Garrett Dellinger and Miles Frazier are listed as questionable.

The Pelicans have so many injuries, the line-up they put on the floor to start the game last night was unrecognizable. New Orleans lost to Cleveland 128 to 100 as former Ragin Cajun Elfrid Payton played in his first NBA game in more than 2 years and had 11 points and eight assists.

The River Bell Classic is tonight in Thibodaux as Nicholls hosts Southeastern Louisiana at 6 PM. The all-time series is tied at 17. Lions Coach Frank Scelfo says it’s a game fans of the respective schools look forward to each year…

Nicholls is 4-and-7, while S-L-U is 6-and-5 and need to win for a chance at making the F-C-S playoffs. The road team has won the last six matchups.

In women’s basketball…Flau’jae Johnson had 25 points and 12 rebounds as the Lady Tigers topped Tulane 85 to 74.

In men’s hoops…23rd ranked Texas A-and-M dribbled past Southern 71-54. And Towson took down Nicholls 70-64.

 

Saints star Taysom Hill earned NFC has been named NFC Offensive Player of the Week as he had three rushing touchdowns against the Browns.

The LSU football team is on its first three-game losing streak since 2021 and Coach Brian Kelly is receiving a lot of criticism from the fan base. The SEC Network’s Paul Finebaum was on Tiger Rag Radio last night and says Kelly is not in jeopardy of losing his job, but he better win next year…

A win for Southeastern Louisiana could land them an at-large berth in the F-C-S playoffs.

LSU Police are looking for whoever stole approximately 40 championship rings from former gymnastics coach D-D Breaux’s on campus office. Breaux retired as coach in 2020 and still works for the university in an ambassador role. Breaux says whoever stole the rings was apparently only after the rings and nothing else.

Breaux says they were probably taken during the day of the Alabama game as the athletic administration building is very busy on gameday.

The LSU men’s basketball team defeated Charleston Southern 77 to 68 last night to improve to 4-and-0. The Tigers will take on Pitt on Friday afternoon in a tournament in West Virginia.

The Ragin Cajuns men’s hoops team is headed to the Virgin Islands to play Liberty. U-L Lafayette lost last night to Rice 83 to 61.

The Pelicans visit the 15-and-1 Cavaliers. New Orleans is 4 and 11 and decimated by injuries. They signed former Cajun Elfrid Payton today to help their depleted backcourt.

Saints tight end Taysom Hill has been named the NFC’s offensive player of the week after scoring three touchdowns against the Cleveland Browns.

The Louisiana Tech football team is fresh off an upset win over Western Kentucky and this Saturday they are at Arkansas. The Razorbacks are led by quarterback Taylen Green. Bulldogs Head Coach Sonny Cumbie says containing the athletic signal caller will be top priority…

When LSU hired Brian Kelly as head coach in 2021, SEC Network’s Paul Finebaum called Kelly an elite coach.
