For the first time since 1999 LSU lost a home football game to Auburn. The Fighting Tigers let a 13-point lead slip away and lost to the War Eagles on Saturday night 24-19. A nonexistent running game is one reason why the Tigers failed to preserve the lead as Ed Orgeron’s team rushed for just 29 yards

The Giants come into Sunday’s game winless at 0-3. New York will be without three starters, guard Ben Bredeson and wide receivers Sterling Shepard and Darius Slayton. Shepard is the team’s leading receiver. The Saints are down two starters, left tackle Terron Armstead and center Erik McCoy. McCoy will miss his third straight game because of a calf injury. Armstead injured his elbow in last Sunday’s win over the Patriots.

Also on Sunday, Carolina is at Dallas, Atlanta hosts the Washington Football Team and Tampa visits the Patriots in Tom Brady’s return to New England.

Nothing official from Auburn, but LSU Coach Ed Orgeron said this week that he expects the War Eagles will start T-J Finley at quarterback tomorrow night as the SEC West rivals meet at 8 PM. Finley replaced a struggling Bo Nix last week to help Auburn get past Georgia State.

Finley started five games at quarterback for LSU last season, but announced in May he was transferring after finding himself third on the depth chart. Orgeron has nothing but respect for TJ….

Proceeds from the sale would go to local charities and team executives would make sure the new owner or owners would keep the Saints and Pelicans in New Orleans. Gayle Benson is 74 and has owned both franchises since 2018 after her husband Tom Benson died.

The two professional sports franchises will be sold and the proceeds from those sales will go to local charities. And the proceeds from the sale, which will be in the billions, will go to local charities. The 74-year-old Benson has been running the franchises since March 2018 following the death of her husband, Tom Benson. Team executives also say the plan is to make sure the Saints stay in New Orleans after the sale is completed.

Ragin Cajuns Coach Billy Napier says starting left tackle Carlos Rubio will likely miss most of the rest of the season after suffering an injury in last Saturday’s win over Georgia Southern.

Texas A-and-M Commerce is joining the Southland Conference. The school is located 65 miles northeast of Dallas and the Lions will become official members next July. Their football team won the Division Two national championship in 2017.

LSU men’s basketball will play an exhibition against Nicholls in Thibodaux on October 23rd and the proceeds will go towards Hurricane Ida relief.
