New Saints Coach Dennis Allen is already making changes with his coaching staff. Allen is reportedly bringing back Doug Marrone to coach the offensive line. Marrone is a former head coach for Jacksonville and Buffalo and was Sean Payton’s first offensive coordinator in New Orleans. Marrone will replace o-line coach Brendan Nugent and Allen is also reportedly letting strength and conditioning coach Dan Dalrymple go.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell says they knew Las Vegas Police were looking to talk with running back Alvin Kamara prior to Sunday’s Pro Bowl game, but they still allowed Kamara to play. After the game, Kamara was arrested on a battery charge after he allegedly punched another person eight times at a nightclub on Las Vegas Boulevard. Saints Coach Dennis Allen says they are still gathering information.

Tonight we’ll find out if former Saints linebacker Sam Mills will be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

The newly acquired CJ McCollum should be on the court tonight when the Pelicans host the Miami Heat to bolster what has been one of the worst backcourts in the NBA this season. McCollum brings more than 20 points per game and adds outside shooting, but Coach Willie Green is also excited about his intangibles.

Senior Director of Research, David Forman says ever since Louisiana sports wagering went live at casinos in November and now with online gaming, it’s more accessible to legally bet on the big game.

Even without Hart and Alexander-Walker, the Pels extended their winning streak to four games with a 110-97 victory of the Houston Rockets, in the first of a 6-game home stand. Brandon Ingram led New Orleans with 26 points, and Herb Jones had 10 points and 11 rebounds. The LSU men’s basketball team snapped its three-game losing streak with a 76-68 win over Texas A-and-M in Reed Arena. A healthy Xavier Pinson had 11 points, two assists, and four rebounds in 23 minutes. Tari Eason came off the bench to score 25 points.

The Pelicans won their fourth straight last night beating Houston 110 to 97 as Brandon Ingram led the way with 26 points. Before the game, New Orleans pulled off a big trade with Portland as the Pels acquired combo guard CJ McCollum and forwards Larry Nance Junior and Tony Snell. New Orleans sent the Trail Blazers Josh Hart, Nickeil Alexander-Walker, and draft compensation.

Allen was seen as the front runner to succeed Sean Payton, having served on Payton’s staff as defensive coordinator since 2015. Saints running back Alvin Kamara will make his first court appearance in a Las Vegas courtroom on March 8th after his arrrest following the Pro Bowl for battery resulting in substantial bodily harm. Authorities say video surveillance matches the story told by the victim who suffered an orbital fracture to his right eye after he was allegedly punched and stomped on by Kamara and his associates in a Las Vegas casino on Saturday.

In basketball action last night, the Lady Tigers defeated Ole Miss 68-64 as Khayla Pointer had her second triple-double of her career. Southern and Grambling men both won last night as the Jags defeated Alabama State 72-58, while Grambling upended Alabama A-and-M 58-50.

Former LSU Associate Athletic Director Sharon Lewis alleges a male coach exposed himself to her in 2013. That’s according to her attorney Larry English, who appeared this morning on WRKF’s Talk Louisiana. English says the incident was documented when it occurred…

Saints running back Alvin Kamara faces a felony battery charge after he allegedly injured someone at a Las Vegas nightclub early Saturday morning. Kamara was arrested Sunday and released on a five-thousand-dollar bond. Video surveillance shows Kamara punching a man approximately eight times before others with Kamara stomping on the individual several more times while he was on the ground. The alleged victim was knocked unconscious and sustained an orbital eye fracture among other injuries. Neither Kamara nor the Saints have made comment.

In other Saints news, the search for a head coach may be coming to an end. Sunday, Kansas City offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy became the sixth candidate to interview for the job. Reports say the Saints hope to name a coach this week, possibly as early as tomorrow.

The LSU football program has added another talented player through the transfer portal in former South Carolina linebacker Kolbe Fields. Fields spent his prep career at Rummel High in Metairie and played in four games for the Gamecocks as a freshman. He brings the number of transfers in the 2022 recruiting class to 13, with 15 freshmen.

Pelicans forward Brandon Ingram has been named the NBA’s Western Conference player of the week for games played between Jan. 31 and Feb. 6. Over three games, Ingram averaged 27 points, 9 assists, 3 rebounds, nearly two steals, and 1.3 blocks in leading the Pels to a 3-0 record. New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara was arrested on a battery allegation Sunday after an incident at a nightclub, according to the Las Vegas Police Department. Kamara was in Sin City to play in the NFL Pro Bowl Sunday. Cops said someone told them they were being treated for injuries caused by a battery by Kamara on Saturday night. Records show Kamara is slated to be in court this afternoon after posting $5,000 bond.

According to a report from ESPN NFL insider Jeremy Fowler, Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy had a lengthy interview with the Saints on Sunday, as New Orleans gets to work on narrowing their search for a head coach.
