Arkansas comes into tomorrow’s game with a one and three record. But the Razorbacks are coming off a win as they dribbled past Missouri 87-43 on Wednesday night.

La Tech blew out Southern Miss on Thursday 80-57. The Bulldogs are 5-and-0 in Conference USA and they’ll face the Golden Eagles on Sunday.

The Ragin Cajuns suffered their first Sun Belt loss on Thursday as they lost by ten to UT Arlington. U-L Lafayette is at Texas State on Saturday.

There is a nation’s best 23 former LSU Tigers on active NFL rosters for this Super Wild Card weekend. Tampa Bay features the most former Tigers with five players on its roster, led by linebacker Devin White and running back Leonard Fournette who will be a game-time decision on Sunday when the Buccaneers host the Eagles. Fournette is coming back from a hamstring injury.

The Bengals and Chiefs have three LSU players on their active rosters. Cincinnati is led by Heisman Trophy quarterback Joe Burrow and receiver Ja’Marr Chase. Chase said on draft night he would break NFL records and ended up setting a rookie record for most receiving yards…

Louisiana Tech improved to 5-0 in Conference USA play last night with an 80-57 win over rival Southern Miss. The Bulldogs led by seven points at halftime, but Coach Eric Konkol expressed what he wanted to see in the second half…

Tech also hit eleven three-pointers, Keaston Willis had four of them and had 21 points. The Bulldogs play Southern Miss again on Sunday in Hattiesburg.

The Ragin Cajuns suffered their first Sun Belt loss as they were defeated by U-T Arlington 83-73, despite 20 points by Kobe Julien. And ULM lost to South Alabama 69-54.

The Pelicans are just a .5 game out of the final playoff spot in the Western Conference after beating the Clippers 113 to 89 last night. Brandon Ingram had 24 points. New Orleans is at Brooklyn on Saturday.

With the Saints not in the NFL playoffs, much of the rooting interest in Louisiana will be for Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals. 1991 was the last time the Bengals won a playoff game, but Burrow is not bothered by it…

Former LSU quarterback Joe Burrow makes his NFL playoff debut on Saturday when the Bengals host the Raiders to kick off the NFL’s Wildcard weekend. Burrow led Cincinnati to its first AFC North Championship since 2015 and is getting a lot of credit for Cincy’s turnaround. But Burrow says he’s playing with the best group of receivers in the NFL…:

The Pelicans had no problem last night as they raced to a 113-89 victory over the Clippers.

What an incredible win in the PMAC last night by the LSU women’s basketball team. The Number 12 Purple and Gold Tigers were lifted to an 87-85 victory over Missouri after a game winning layup by Senior Khayal Pointer with 5.7 seconds left in overtime. LSU is now 16-2 and 4-1 in the SEC.

Also in college hoops last night, the Louisiana Tech men’s basketball team had an easy time over Southern Miss picking up an 80-57 win. UL-Lafayette fell to UT-Arlington 83-73 on the road. The Cajuns are now 8-6 overall and 3-1 in conference play. ULM fell to Texas State 80-56.

The 12th ranked LSU basketball team pulled off a big road win last night as they defeated Florida 64-58. Starting point guard Xavier Pinson didn’t play because of a sprained knee and Tari Eason and Efton Reid both battled foul trouble, but the Tigers were still able to win after withstanding a run by Florida in the second half. Coach Will Wade says it was not pretty…

Darius Days had a big night as he scored 20 points and Eric Gaines had 15 points in the absence of Pinson. LSU hosts Arkansas this Saturday.

Former Ouachita High School head coach John Carr is returning to ULM to serve as the Warhawks wide receivers coach. He spent the last three seasons as an assistant head coach and inside receivers coach at Troy. Carr spent the 2018 season as the wide receivers coach and recruiting coordinator at ULM. The Warhawks went 6-and-6 that season.

The No. 12 LSU men’s basketball team has won its third straight game after a 64-58 victory over Florida in Gainesville Wednesday. The Tigers were playing without starting point guard Xavier Pinson, who was out with an MCL knee sprain. So, Darius Days led the way with 20 points along with one assist and four steals. Elsewhere around the state Wednesday, McNeese clobbered Arlington Baptist 120-44. Tulane got by Wichita State 68-67. And Southeastern prevailed over Tougaloo 77-72.

Today Louisiana Tech hosts Southern Miss. ULM travels to face Texas State. And UL-Lafayette is at UT Arlington.

LSU football has added two potential starters to its defensive secondary with the help of the transfer portal. Arkansas safety Joe Foucha and Ragin Cajuns cornerback Mekhi Gardner have posted on social media they will transfer to LSU. Foucha started 33 games at Arkansas over three years and last season had two interceptions and 7.5 tackles for a loss. The Athletic’s Brody Miller says Foucha is one of the better SEC safeties you’ll find..:

The 12th ranked Fighting Tigers men’s basketball team looks to get a win on the road tonight as they visit the Florida Gators. In LSU’s only other true road game, the Tigers suffered a 15-point loss at Auburn. They turned it over 17 times and Coach Will Wade says they can’t do that again…

Senior point guard Xavier Pinson is not expected to play tonight because of a minor knee injury. Eric Gaines is expected to start in Pinson’s place and freshman Justice Williams will also get some minutes.

Last night, the Pelicans topped the Timberwolves 128 to 125 as Brandon Ingram drained a long three-pointer with less than a second left.

Former LSU running back Kevin Faulk was very emotional with reporters yesterday as he discussed his election to the College Football Hall of Fame. Faulk is still LSU’s all-time leading rusher and holds the record for all-purpose yards in the SEC. After his standout career with LSU, Faulk won three Super Bowls with the Patriots. The Carencro native says what he’s accomplished is amazing…

In football recruiting news, Westgate High School tight end Danny Lewis has de-committed from Cincinnati and according to Geaux 247, Lewis will make an official visit to LSU next week. LSU’s new offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock is from Cincinnati.

Former LSU running back Kevin Faulk got teary-eyed talking about his election to the College Football Hall of Fame when he met with reporters in Baton Rouge. Faulk admits being inducted into the Hall of Fame means so much more after the death of his youngest daughter in September and then losing his job as LSU running backs coach in December…

LSU is starting to add some bodies through the transfer portal. Arkansas safety Joe Foucha and Ragin Cajuns cornerback Mekhi Gardner both announced last night they plan on transferring to LSU. Foucha has started 33 games for the Razorbacks over the last three seasons. Gardner had three interceptions this past season for the Cajuns.

In last night’s SEC basketball action, fourth-ranked Auburn defeated Alabama 81-77, 18th ranked Kentucky defeated Vanderbilt 78-66 and 22nd ranked Tennessee topped South Carolina 66-46.

An emotional Kevin Faulk met with reporters to talk about his induction into the College Football Hall of Fame. It’s been a difficult few months for LSU’s all-time leading rusher as the Carencro native continues to grieve the death of his 19-year-old daughter, who died unexpectedly in September. In December, Faulk learned he will not be part of LSU’s new coaching staff. Faulk expressed the desire to coach again one day and he’ll continue to train players on the side, but spending time with family is also important…

LSU star wide receiver Kayshon Boutte has reached a name, image, and likeness deal with well-known injury attorney Gordon McKernan. Terms of Boutte’s deal were not released, but the New Iberia native will be paid to appear in digital ads promoting McKernan’s law firm. McKernan encourages businesses to look into NIL deals with student-athletes because players look at the amount of money they can make off the field when it comes to where they’ll go to school…

Another LSU Tiger has entered the NCAA transfer portal. Cornerback Dwight McGlothern became a starter this past season after Derek Stingley Junior and Eli Ricks got injured and now he’s looking to play somewhere else.

All of the players who started at cornerback or nickel back for the Tigers in the 2021 season are either headed for the NFL draft, have transferred or are transferring or do not have any more eligibility.

Instead of getting ready for a playoff game, the Saints are looking back at the 2021 season and preparing for the 2022 season. NFL analyst Mike Detillier says figuring out the quarterback position will be the top priority and he says the second priority is to make sure All-Pro receiver Michael Thomas is healthy for the 2022 season. He missed this past season recovering from ankle surgery in June…

Tigers coach Will Wade says starting point guard Xavier Pinson will not play after injuring his knee in the win over Florida. But Wade says the injury is not serious and Pinson should be back soon.
