Westgate won a four-a title last year and they are at Destrehan. Amite won a Two-a title last year and they’ll visit Union Parish, while Homer who won the one-a title last year hosts Mangham.

College football could have a 12-team playoff as soon as 2024. That’s because the Rose Bowl has reportedly signed an agreement that would allow the C-F-P to expand from four to 12 teams in 2024. According to Ross Dellenger at Sports Illustrated, the six highest-ranked champs automatically qualify and then the next six highest-ranked teams get At-Large bids. The top four conference champs get byes and the better seed will host first-round matchups.

Former LSU assistant coach and Nebraska interim head coach Mickey Joseph has been arrested on suspicion of strangulation and third-degree domestic assault. Joseph was taken into custody after police received a report of a domestic disturbance at a home in Lincoln, Nebraska.

The U-S Men’s Soccer team is advancing to the knock out stage of the World Cup after beating Iran 1-nil yesterday.

The USMNT held on to a 1-0 victory over Iran to advance to the knockout round of the World Cup. The US held on to advance and will face the Netherlands Saturday.

After the loss to the 49ers, the Saints are 4-8 on the season and sit at last in the NFC South, but the division-leading Buccaneers are only one game ahead of the Black and Gold. With 3 of the last five games of the season against division opponents and a Monday night matchup against the Bucs next week, New Orleans is still in the hunt for a playoff berth, but Coach Dennis Allen says the team isn’t worried about the standings…

The Lady Tigers will look to remain undefeated tonight as they host Southeastern. LSU has moved to 11^th in the nation after a 99-68 win over UAB and hopes to continue their streak against the 4-2 Lions. Tip-off is set for 7:00.
