The good news is that no one is running away with the NFC South. Tampa Bay fell to 2-and-2 after losing to Kansas City 41-31 last night. Atlanta beat Cleveland 23-20 as the Falcons improved to 2-and-2, while the Panthers fell to 1-and-3 with a 26-16 loss to Arizona. New Orleans hosts Seattle this Sunday. The Seahawks outscored Detroit 48-45 to improve to 2-and-2.

LSU is in the AP Top 25 poll for the first time this season as they are ranked 25th. The Tigers are coming off a come from behind 21-17 win over Auburn. TheTigers passing game struggled. The Saints offense had another slow start, turned it over twice and the team committed ten penalties. The defense also couldn’t contain former LSU Tiger Justin Jefferson, who had 10 catches for 147 yards and a rushing TD. New Orleans is now 1-and-3 and will return home to face Seattle.

LSU forced four turnovers, three of them in the fourth quarter. The Tigers are now ranked 25th in the AP poll and will host 8th ranked Tennessee on Saturday.

The Ragin Cajuns rallied from a 10-point fourth quarter deficit only to lose on a last second field goal to South Alabama 20-17. ULM still can’t beat Arkansas State as the Warhawks fell to the Red Wolves 45-28. Northwestern State rallied from 12 down to beat Nicholls 36-33 to improve to 2-0 in the Southland. The Colonels remain winless.

Tonight it’s Week 5 of the high school football season and Union Parish running back Trey Holly is the new all-time leading rusher in Louisiana High School football history. Holly surpassed former Tiger and University High running back Nick Brossette last week and he now has 8,708 yards rushing. Holly is committed to play at LSU and the four-star recruit says he’s always dreamed of playing in Tiger Stadium…

Coach Dennis Allen said yesterday that the plan was for Winston to practice today. Winston has been dealing with a bad back, but told reporters he also has several other injuries…

Kelly said today on the SEC Coaches Teleconference that starting left guard Garrett Dellinger had surgery yesterday to repair a broken hand suffered in the shutout win over New Mexico and he’s doubtful to play this Saturday. Miles Frazier started the season as the left guard could get the nod to start at Auburn.

The Pelicans began training camp today and Zion Williamson is healthy after missing all of last season with a foot injury. Williamson says this year they want to make a deep run in the postseason…
