Rams Quarterback Matthew Stafford is expected to play this Sunday after missing last weekend’s loss to the Cardinals because of a concussion.

The Pelicans routed the Bulls last night as they defeated Chicago 124 to 110. New Orleans shot 52-percent from three point range as they made 17 three-pointers. Trey Murphy had his first career double-double, 19 points and 10 rebounds.

In college hoops tonight, LSU hosts UNO and the Cajuns take on Louisiana Tech in Lafayette.

The Pelicans moved to nine and six on the season last night with a 124 to 110 win over the Chicago Bulls. Big game from second-year forward Trey Murphy who had 19 points, 10 rebounds, three steals and a blocked shot. Zion Williamson missed a second straight game with a right foot contusion. The Pels host Boston on Friday.

LSU will honor 17 seniors on Saturday night before they face UAB in the final home game of the season. One of those seniors is defensive end Ali Gaye. The native of Gambia says his parents will attend their first game in Tiger Stadium

LSU defensive coordinator Matt Houston has been nominated for the Broyles Award, which goes to the top assistant in college football.

The LSU women’s basketball team scored over 100 points for a school-record fourth consecutive game as the Lady Tigers crushed Houston Christian 101 to 47. Angel Reese had 23 points and 16 rebounds.

Tonight in college hoops, LSU men host UNO, the Cajuns battle La Tech in Lafayette. ULM is at TCU and Northwestern State travels to Illinois State.

The Saints are sticking with Andy Dalton as their starting quarterback for Sunday’s home game against the Los Angeles Rams. The offense has only scored two touchdowns in the last two games and Dalton has thrown three interceptions. He played well in his first five starts.

Nothing wrong with the offense for the LSU women’s basketball team. They scored over 100 points for a school record fourth straight game as the Lady Tigers defeated Houston Christian 101 to 47 today. Angel Reese had another double-double 29 points and 16 rebounds.

Zion Williamson will not play again tonight because of a foot injury. New Orleans hosts the struggling Bulls after beating Memphis 113 to 102. C-J McCollum had 30 points as the Pels improved to eight and six on the season. Chicago is 6-and-8. Tip time is seven PM.

Saturday will be senior day for the sixth ranked LSU Tigers as they host UAB. Seniors like Micah Baskerville have been big this season, but Coach Brian Kelly says the freshmen class has also been a big part of this team’s success..

Zion Williamson did not play for the Pelicans last night because of a sore foot, but CJ McCollum broke out of a shooting slump to score 30 points in a 113 to 102 win over the Grizzlies. New Orleans hosts the Bulls tonight.

The Saints have reportedly signed 30-year-old running back David Johnson to their practice squad. Johnson played last season with Houston and spent some time in New Orleans during the team’s minicamp in the offseason. We could get an answer from head coach Dennis Allen today on who will start at quarterback against the Rams.

Louisiana Tech Coach Sunny Cumbie says freshman Landry Lyddy will start at quarterback Saturday at Charlotte. That’s because regular starter Parker McNeil has a broken middle finger on his throwing hand. Jack Turner will serve as Lyddy’s backup.

In a historic move, the LSU Band has been nominated for a Grammy thanks to their collaboration with Lake Charles musician Sean Ardoin. The Golden Band from Tigerland is featured on Ardoin’s latest LP for all 12 tracks and it’s up for Best Regional Roots Album in the ceremony happening in February.

The Saints fell to 3-7 and are tied for last in the NFC South, but Head Coach Dennis Allen and the team aren’t ready to give up on the season. Still only two games behind the division-leading Buccaneers, Allen previously said the team would move forward with backup quarterback Andy Dalton as long as production continues. Now, after another disappointing loss Allen says week one starter Jameis Winston is still not fully healthy but remains involved with the team…

The Pelicans sit at 8th in the west after a 119-106 win over the Rockets last Saturday. They’ll kick off a home double-header tonight versus the 9-5 Grizzlies. Tonight would mark the first time former AAU teammates and top-two overall picks in the 2019 NBA Draft Zion Williamson and Ja Morant have faced off since February of 2021, but Williamson is listed as questionable for the matchup. Northwestern State basketball celebrates their second win over a top-25 ranked team in program history last night. The Demons upset 15th-ranked TCU 64-63 after a back-and-forth game with 16 lead changes. The Demons’ backcourt duo of Ja’Monta Black and DeMarcus Sharp combined for 28 of the team’s 35 second-half points to overcome a 12-point deficit The Demons return to action Thursday against Illinois St.

Northwestern State pulled off a big upset in men’s college basketball last night as the Demons downed 15th ranked TCU 64-63 in a game that saw 16 lead changes.

The Saints are 3-7 and tied for last in the NFC South and appear to be going nowhere this season. But Coach Dennis Allen is not ready to quit on the season…

The play at quarterback has not been good enough lately and Allen says a decision has not been made on who will start this Sunday against the Rams.

Prayers are up for former University High of Baton Rouge Running Back Michael Hollins. His family says he had a second successful surgery this morning after he was shot on Sunday night by a former football player at the University of Virginia. Three Cavalier football players were fatally shot and Hollins is one of two players who survived. The shooter is in custody.

The Pelicans host the Memphis Grizzlies tonight at 6:30. Zion Williamson is questionable with a right ankle-foot sprain.

An investigation is underway into the death of Carlos Thomas, the father of former LSU star and current Buccaneers linebacker Devin White. Thomas was in custody of the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office as an inmate awaiting trial on federal charges when he lost consciousness on his way to the hospital after complaining of severe back pain. He died a short time later.

LSU hosts UAB this Saturday and then will conclude the regular season on November 26th at Texas A&M. Coach Brian Kelly says his staff will not be pre-planning for Georgia in the SEC title game…

The Tigers need to figure out what went wrong with the offense in Fayetteville. Quarterback Jayden Daniels only threw for 86 yards against one of the worst pass defenses in the country. Coach Brian Kelly gives credit to Arkansas’ defensive game plan nd not having the players prepared well enough.

First year Northwestern State head men’s basketball coach Corey Gipson had his team prepared well for 15th ranked TCU last night and it led to the Demons upsetting the Horned Frogs 64-63. It’s the second win for Northwestern in program history against a team ranked in the Top 25.

Meanwhile, 23rd ranked Texas Tech topped Louisiana 64-55.

The Tigers defense held Arkansas to 249 yards of total offense. Freshman Harold Perkins had an outstanding game as he had eight tackles and four sacks. And for the second consecutive week, Perkins was named SEC Defensive Player of the Week and he was named the Walter Camp Defensive Player of the Week.

The Saints are now tied for last place in the NFC South with a three and seven record after losing to Pittsburgh 20-10 yesterday. New Orleans will host the Rams this Sunday. The reigning Super Bowl champs are 3-and-6.

The Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating the sudden death of an inmate, who is the father of former LSU linebacker Devin White. Thomas was in the Natchitoches Parish jail awaiting trial on federal charges, when he began to complain about severe back pain. Authorities say Thomas became unresponsive on his way to the hospital and died a short time later.

Authorities say a former player on the Virginia football team fatally shot three current players on the Cavaliers and injured two others during an on campus shooting. The suspect, Christopher Darnell Jones Junior is in custody. One of the surviving victims is former University High of Baton Rouge running back Michael Hollins. He’s reportedly in stable condition after undergoing surgery and is expected to undergo surgery tomorrow.

And Pope John High School in Slidell is mourning over the death of football player, Christian Tullis. He died in a car wreck on Friday night, his dad is the head coach of the volleyball team that played in a state championship game on Saturday and lost to Newman.

Tragedy at the University of Virginia as three football players were fatally shot in an on-campus shooting. The suspected gunman is former Cavalier football player Chris Jones who is in custody. Two other U-V-A football players are also injured by gunfire, including former University High of Baton Rouge running back Michael Hollins, who reportedly had a surgery that went well.

LSU beat Arkansas 13-10 on Saturday and Alabama’s win over Ole Miss secured an SEC West Championship for the Tigers in coach Brian Kelly’s first season. It was not a good day for the Tigers offense in Fayetteville as quarterback Jayden Danels threw for only 86 yards and rushed for ten yards and was sacked seven times. Kelly gives credit to Arkansas, but also says more could have been done to protect Daniels…

Southeastern Louisiana is ranked 23rd in this week’s F-C-S Stats Top 25 poll. The Lions defeated Northwestern State 23-7 in Strawberry Stadium and can win a Southland Championship when they visit Nicholls on Thursday.
