LSU defensive end Princewill Umanmielen was served papers in the parking lot of the LSU football facility yesterday. They’re related to the lawsuit filed by Ole Miss that claims he owes the school 550-thousand dollars for breaking his revenue-sharing contract to transfer to LSU.

Shreveport commercial frying equipment producer Frymaster is expanding its operations. The business began in Shreveport in 1935 and now serves major foodservice operators around the world. Vice President of Business Development and Product Management, Wendell Hays, says they are investing 11 million dollars.

A manhunt is underway in northwest Louisiana for a Caddo Correctional Center inmate who escaped Monday night. Authorities say 24-year-old Tre’Veon Jackson escaped custody after being transported to Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport. Caddo Parish Sheriff Henry Whitehorn says Jackson evaded capture, carjacked a vehicle and crashed that vehicle near Highway 80 and Interstate 220.

ESPN is reporting that LSU star defensive end Princewill Umanmielen received court papers in the parking lot of the team’s practice facility as he’s a defendant in a lawsuit filed by Ole Miss that claims he and fellow LSU Tiger Devin Harper owe the University of Mississippi close to a million dollars for breaking revenue-sharing contract. In northwest Louisiana, a manhunt continues for 24-year-old Tre’Veon Jackson. The Caddo Parish inmate escaped from deputy custody outside a Shreveport hospital on Monday night and Sheriff Henry Whitehorn says Jackson is considered armed and dangerous…

Jackson has been held at CCC since 2021 on multiple charges, including two counts of second degree murder.

Enrollment at LSU A has swelled to 86-hundred students, a 128-percent increase over five years.

And the suspect who allegedly stabbed four people to death in Houma last weekend has been released from the hospital and he was booked into jail. Kaegan Solet faces four counts of first-degree murder, and one count attempted first degree murder.

As if Saturday’s game between LSU and Ole Miss needed any more drama, another legal wrinkle had been added…

ESPN reports LSU defensive end Princewill Umanmielen was served court papers in front of the Tigers football office. Umanmielen is one of two LSU players facing a civil suit from Ole Miss, who alleges the two athletes owe them nearly one-million dollars for not fulfilling the revenue sharing contracts they signed with Ole Miss in January.

Researchers at Tulane University’s School of Public Health say that sleeping in near total darkness can lead to better heart health. Lead author of the study, Lu Qi (chee) says their research has found that exposure to higher levels of light at nighttime can actually lead to chronic stress to the heart…

A study led by Tulane University Professor Dr. Lu Qi found that sleeping in near-total darkness could be good for your cardiovascular health. The study collected data from more than 11-thousand participants, and Dr. Qi says sleeping in total darkness is shown to have additional benefits.

Keim says the front will drop the dew point temperature into the 60s, down around 10 degrees from what it has been, and you should feel a significant difference.

Visit Oxford Executive Director Kinney Ferris says the top-10 Ole Miss LSU game this weekend could bring more travelers to the city than ever before. But if you’re still planning your trip, she says there is still some hotel availability left, and there could still be hope even if hotels are shown as fully booked.

She says there are also numerous Air-B-N-Bs and other rental options in the area.

The Tigers’ defense is number-one in the nation in yards allowed per game, but the Rebels’ backfield of Trinidad Chambliss and Kewan Lacy will be its biggest test this season. Chambliss ran for 71 yards against the Tigers last season, and LSU defensive end Princewill Umanmielen says LSU will need to contain him.

A multi-agency manhunt continues across Caddo and Bossier parishes for an escaped inmate.  Authorities say 24 year old Tra’veon Jackson escaped the custody of a deputy outside a Shreveport hospital late Monday night and has been on the run since. Jackson is considered armed and dangerous and anyone who sees him is urged to call 911 immediately but do not approach him.
