The rally will also include 5th Congressional District Candidate Republican Ralph Abraham. Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson is also salted to attend the Saturday afternoon event in Monroe.

The search continues for a missing Louisiana woman believed to be in a wooded area of south Arkansas. 32-year-old Amanda McKinnie McPherson of Marion was last seen in Union County on November 3rd. Sheriff Mike McGough (ma GOO) says McPherson and a male friend were driving in the area and got stuck. McGough says the male friend left to find help, but got lost…:

No one has heard from McPherson since her phone went dead. Anyone with information is urged to contact authorities.

The Monroe Police Department says they are testing body cameras on officers. They are working to see if they benefit the department with the ultimate goal of getting footage that would protect both the interests of officers and citizens.

The Louisiana’s Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness is urging residents to prepare for the first bit of severe winter weather of the season. Meteorologists forecast freezing temperatures for most of the state tonight through tomorrow. GOHSEP says keep heating safety in mind, have a working smoke alarm and follow the pets/pipes/plants precautions.

Two Baton Rouge police officers and a former officer are facing charges in a sex case in which they allegedly forced a woman to perform a sexual act on one of the officers at a Baton Rouge park earlier this year. East Baton Rouge District Attorney Hillar Moore says evidence against the three men was compiled by the Baton Rouge police department:

Former Alaska Governor and tea party favorite Sarah Palin will be in Monroe this weekend to stump for US-Senate Candidate Bill Cassidy. The National Weather Service says there is a freeze warning in effect from 11pm this evening to 9am tomorrow morning for most of the state — and a HARD freeze warning has been issued for many parishes along I-10 in Acadiana and Calcasieu from midnight to 8am Friday. Meteorologists report freezing temperatures could last between 3 and 8 hours and plants should be protected and animals brought indoors.

According to Bloomberg, 96-percent of TV ads which ran during the 1st week of the US-Senate runoff campaigns supported Republican Bill Cassidy. Political analyst Bernie Pinsonat says this isn’t surprising considering National Democrats already pulled incumbent Senator Mary Landrieu’s ads…:

An LSU police officer remains in stable condition after getting hit by a passing vehicle late Saturday night in which Alabama team doctors rushed to his aid. The story is starting to grab national headlines. The doctors were part of the team’s motorcade according to LSUPD spokesman Captain Corey Lalande

He says 33-year-old Sgt. Christopher Gresham sustained very serious injuries but thankfully the Bama doctors were able to stabilize him before EMS arrives.

As Representative Bill Cassidy wages a runoff campaign against Democratic Senator Mary Landrieu, he’ll be getting some in-person support this weekend from Sarah Palin and Phil Robertson from Duck Dynasty. Palin had previously endorsed Col Rob Maness but now she’s thrown her support behind Cassidy.

Searchers are facing rough conditions on Lake Pontchartrain this morning as they continue to look for two people authorities say were aboard a small plane that went down last night. Coast Guard officials say crews found some debris but cannot confirm that debris belongs to the plane. Authorities say the plane was last spotted on radar about one mile northeast of Lakefront Airport. The flight was reportedly a student instructor flight.

“MAB-CHMINACA”, a new component in synthetic marijuana is believed to be responsible for sending more teenagers to the hospital in Louisiana. This new compound has been banned by the state and Louisiana Poison Control Executive Director Mark Ryan says it’s caused some users to be sent to the intensive care unit so it deserved quick action to regulate. He says in some cases these people have had their heart rate drop dramatically…

The coldest temperatures of the fall have arrived and that could result in an increase in home fires. The American Red Cross says heating sources are the second leading cause of home fire deaths, and fatal home fires increase in the winter months. A man had to be rescued from his burning home in Shreveport this morning. Authorities say a retired state trooper pulled an individual out of his home that was engulfed in flames. The former law enforcement officer was not injured, but the man inside the house suffered non-life threatening injuries.

A total of 40 plus animals have been rescued in Washington Parish, and an arrest warrant has been issued for an unnamed woman, who is being accused of hoarding and neglecting animals. Officials from the Humane Society of Louisiana says law enforcement executed a search warrant at the property, but the owner was not there.
