An overnight shooting at a nightclub in Lake Charles has left a Lafayette man dead. Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Deputies got the call from Club Vibe around 12:40 this morning. Thirty-four year-old Kenneth Joseph Brown was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. That investigation continues.

Junior Galette, and outside linebacker for the New Orleans Saints, was arrested this morning by the Kenner Police Department and charged with simple battery domestic violence. Police say Galette is accused of pushing a woman to the ground at his home. Galette says the woman is a dancer, while the victim claims she lives with him, handling the cooking and cleaning. Police say the woman has injuries that include blood coming from her ear and scratches on her face.

The Alexandria Police Department says a man is under arrest on negligent homicide charges for allegedly accidentally shooting and killing someone. They believe 29-year-old Kendall Smith was playing with the weapon when it discharged and struck a 29-year-old male victim who is not being identified at this time. The incident remains under investigation.

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s office says a man was fatally shot outside of the nightspot called Club Vibe. They say 34-year-old Kenneth Brown of Lafayette was found sitting inside a vehicle with a gunshot wound. The victim was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead. There is no motive or suspect at this time.

With a new Congress set to swear-in tomorrow that puts a wrap on Mary Landrieu’s last day as a U-S Senator. Landrieu has served Louisiana in the Senate the last 18 years and LSU Political Science Professor Robert Hogan says she’ll be remembered for her work to bring federal resources to the Bayou State…:
